That's a lot to pack into one sentence.

OkayIt wasn't 'slagging off'. That's not me just having a random pop... It's my, and a good number of people's experiences of dealing with this Government during this Pandemic.
Ignorance is bliss I suppose. Let's just settle on they're 'doing their best at a difficult time' shall we?
We seem to have bottomed out in the 1000s of those testing positive, which is a bit concerning. I know there are a lot of daily tests now but I expected that figure to be in the hundreds by this stage. It will be interesting if the latest ONS figures show a continued drop in infection in the community.100 cases identified for the second day in a row in Czech now, which is the highest level since March.
Let's suppose that the Government sets 5 tests that need to be met in order to ease lockdown and they stipulate that it isn't safe for lockdown to ease unless all 5 tests are met. Would you expect them to allow schools, pubs, hairdressers, hotels to open to the public if those tests weren't met?Okay
I've gone back through our posts on this because I thought you may have misunderstood what I was after, but I can see now that you did understand that I was specifically referring to coming out of lockdown. So ignore my last post about the apology.
I don't believe my use of the term slagging off was out of place here. It means critically attack and that's what your post did. I never said you were wrong to do so did I? Neither do I believe I am ignorant to the Tories incompetence in how they have handled this crisis. I can show you dozens of posts where I have been critical of them and my overall assessment of their performance so far is that they have been poor. On my old school annual assessments, the grades ranged from poor to excellent, with poor being the lowest. I have been particularly critical of their lack of leadership and very poor communications.
But I have also tried to add some balance and perspective to things because we were dealing very much with the unknown here and learning as we go along, and, despite what many people n here were saying at the time, the politicians were initially following the science, as the SAGE minutes confirm. Yes, the politicians are the end decision makers and have ultimate responsibility, but the advice from the scientists and the senior health and scientific permanent government staff has been questionable, as has the performance of elements of the civil service and NHS hierarchy. I'd also question opposition politicians who I expect to rally round in times of crisis and offer real constructive support, and I've seen very little of this. And I've already made clear my views of the role of the media in all this. Nobody in senior management roles have covered themselves in any glory.
Back on topic, the point I was trying to make was that your posts said a lot about how poor the government had been in delivering the changes to lockdown, but very little concerning the actual decisions they were making. And, to be clear, I don't necessarily disagree with what you said as regard the former. What are your views on the schools returning for instance, on the opening up of non essential shopping, on the 2m rule, on allowing those shielding out of the house for exercise, the use of masks on public transport, of allowing those living alone to visit one other household, and your views on the potential re-opening of restaurants, pubs, hotels, hairdressers etc.?

Another wonderfully stupid article by the BBC. They really are excelling themselves at the minute. The choice quote being ‘I never really had to survive month to month, I could survive 6 weeks without working.’
Begin the lockdown again. Idiots like that deserve it.
They should not open up unless the 5 tests are met. The government argue that they have been. I would personally question whether the infection rate is low enough but I don't know enough about our TTI capabilities to speak with any certainty on that. What is your point here and why are you seemingly reluctant to answer my question?Let's suppose that the Government sets 5 tests that need to be met in order to ease lockdown and they stipulate that it isn't safe for lockdown to ease unless all 5 tests are met. They deserve to be even poorer?![]()

If the TTI forms part of those 5 tests and If every assessment from every agency involved says otherwise and a Director of Public health say otherwise based on practical assessment but the Government says 'open up' because we've got milestones to hit, who is right? They should not open up unless the 5 tests are met. The government argue that they have been. I would personally question whether the infection rate is low enough but I don't know enough about our TTI capabilities to speak with any certainty on that. FFS, he's made.
He wants to try and empathise a bit with people in this country facing a death sentence or a long time in self imposed internal exile from the rest of society.
I've lived on the beach in Cornwall too at his age and theres nothing wrong with that, not everyone wants to wander around cities full of scally no marks. There is very little work around there at any time but at least hes been having a go.He lives by the beach in Cornwall with his bird and is sorted for pockert money.

He's 22 or something.i’ve only briefly read the article but looks like he’s on about 17k a year and is behind on the rent in his home , hardly living high on the hog like . Your empathy seems at odds with someone who preaches socialism
