Is this like the UK Government placing contracts with AI companies like Faculty - a company with links to Tory aides like Warner and Cummings?

No, not really. I don't recall a British government or prime minister being formally investigated for corruption by the EU, but as you say below, what do you care about a "people of whom we know nothing".

I couldn't give a flying one about the Czech PM or his ilk. The relevant point is this: the Czechs have a total number of deaths from Covid19 that stands at less than 340; the UK has a total death from it of 68,000. They have been well governed during this crisis, the UK has been calamitoulsy governed. Or maybe you would dispute that?

I'd argue you have metaphorically had the mask pulled over your eyes.

Indeed there is and many have taken up the possibility due to this lockdown.
You have no way of knowing this and any evidence theorising such is largely just that.

Personally I'm not sure it's helpful to relate broad generalisations about mental health problems related to Covid-19, the vulnerability of people shielding being something to sacrifice for the greater good against your desire 'for a bit of fun to alleviate the boredom'.

Well I have one neighbour who committed suicide at the height of this and another work colleague who had a stress related breakdown and has had to take prolonged time off work due to it. That's my evidence through primary sources.

Well I don't know anyone that's experienced any problems and I know everyone in the world apart from you, your neighbor and your colleague.

That's my evidence through a primary source...

Presumably there's been no analysis of the breakdown of the 'excess deaths' figure that people seem to be bandying about with such relish to understand what the causes of them have been?

Belittle people who have had their mental health weakened or have killed themselves due to this if you will. My overall point is that as an individual I know a lot more people who have lost jobs, committed suicide, had mental breakdowns than have caught this virus.

Lots of analysis of a whole host of factors. It's a very mixed bag regarding feedback from mental health trusts, charities and other mental health providers. But nothing you could say for certain in any meaningful way that there has 'definitely been an increase'. Obviously there will be but significant numbers - not sure.

The current impact seems to be mostly on those with preexisting conditions (again as you might expect). But now a lot of work is being put into understanding and anticipating the impact from an impending financial crash.

If anything I'd say our roles are reversed here...

Mental health counselling has virtually ground to a halt for the past 3 months, particularly for those who are uncomfortable using technology. AA meetings and similar support groups also have been stopped.

We've also heard about people not referring themselves with serious health symptoms due to the insane amount of fear whipped up by this virus.

It seems that some people are taking the approach that this virus is the first, the last, the everything in regards to public health. It's not.

I know ptsd cbt counselling waiting list in my area was 3 to 4 month waiting list I can only assume we’re looking well in excess of 6 now .

Have you considered that there is also an argument that if people are that ill then what is their quality of life and is it worth clinging on to? A lot of people seek euthanasia these days...

again I don’t think there are any simple answers to this . I get @davek wants to shut everything and dismisses everyone else as primarni pastie eaters or ‘coquettish’ gym Goers or others think we should be allowed a free run at haircuts and no restrictions Drinking . However There are hosts of people who are impacted in the middle ground be they missing out on income or Healthcare (mental or physical ) or others who are terrified of the effect of covid on their lives and how the behaviour of others could hit them .

Despite the attempts of so many In my opinion this isn’t something That can just be resolved with a 2 second sound bite .

That's the truth. Can you imagine the waiting lists nationally before and after this virus?
But that's not considered at all by those with one tracked political point scoring shouts and yells.

Yes, and nows the time to get in there cos the waiting lists are growing due to this lockdown.

As long as all the rich old people are being protected the rest of us can go to hell.
