Ok do to address this:

What are your views on the schools returning for instance, on the opening up of non essential shopping, on the 2m rule, on allowing those shielding out of the house for exercise, the use of masks on public transport, of allowing those living alone to visit one other household, and your views on the potential re-opening of restaurants, pubs, hotels, hairdressers etc.?

If the 5 tests in an area say no then they shouldn't. I don't think things should be relaxed as much as they are based on the assessments I've seen.

The 2m rule seems reasonable based on the evidence presented and the risk assessment from PHE. I'm not sure why there needs to be a reduction. It presents much greater risk to those shielding to be able to get out and exercise where distancing is seen as optional and presently the attitude to risk is very different depending upon the person. I'd prefer to allow those shielding people the option to decide for themselves what risk they are willing to take if they do want to get out, but it's not a simple one size fits all model. Some will be able to be more mobile than others and some will require support from those that potentially present them greatest risk.

Masks should be mandatory in public spaces I think.

I think it's a little too soon to be opening restaurants given the pace at which other lockdown has eased. We are in a 5 week cycle and there isn't enough good data to determine what direction this are going.

Generally, I'm in favour of easing, regardless of some increased risk, because the risk of prolonged lockdown will be devastating. However, if we ease too quickly we risk a cycle of peaks and troughs in the response and a much longer trail of recovery. But, the reason we aren't, as I suggested, is because early response was poor and now the Government have presented themselves and the UK with easing quickly or further hardship. Yes it's not an easy decision, but it's one that comes with contingency if done correctly.

Us Brits are a rum lot when it comes to queues.

Was at Sainsburys earlier, and the queue was longer than normal cos it had hosed down most of the morning. After about 20 minutes I was near the front, and a middle age lady hobbled towards the end to join it, clearly struggling to move well, with a crutch. So I turned to the bloke behind me and asked him if he a problem with me letting the women go in front of me.

"No problem mate, nice one"

So I shouted to the lady, and pointed to the space in front and me, and asked her if she wanted to go in front of me.

"Oh bless you, thats so kind. But nor sure everyone else will be pleased, so I will queue like everyone else!"

People would have started shooting if you attempted that round here.

He hasn't got a terrible situation. FFS, if he had to live in Liverpool during the 80s he'd have had something to complain about.

Nonsense.

I lived in Liverpool in the 80`s as a young man of a similar age to that poor lad and it was the time of my life.

Everton were the best team in Europe for a couple of seasons.
The music scene was bouncing and E`s came in on the tail end.
We had our own fashion, that was copied up and down the country.
It was just non stop.

I didn`t want it to ever end.

But you clearly dont see anything but misery and contempt for others.

I can`t be, as I don`t really fit the profile :

I`m not furloughed in a Southwestern coastal town.
I don`t shop in Primark.
I don`t eat pasties from Greggs.
I don`t own a Staffordshire Bull Terrier.
I`m not in my twenties.
I haven`t had my haircut in a barbers ( yet ).
I haven`t had a pint in a pub ( yet ).

That's why I left Liverpool in 1981, I knew you were a troublemaker you Tory boy lol
Whatever government if in power now would struggle it's a world pandemic......
A bit concerning that in areas they have opened the lockdown the COVID-19 is rising in some countries in the world .....

Aye. Read up on the situation in Brazil earlier. Holy cow, they are flat lining at circa 1200 deaths a day, (with a very suspect count at that) hospitals on their knees, and they have eased their lockdown, which was piss poor in the first place.

Maybe it`s because I don`t adhere to that particular brand of " Socialism " lol

Joe and Dave driving the socialism bandwagon
