I dont know why you're so angry mate - just admit whenever the issue of race comes up its always blown over proportion to the point that bells start moaning about crap like coco pops that distort any sensible message.

I've been stopped as a young lad by police randomly - I just got on with it as the estate I lived in growing up was dog rough nowadays police must be terrified of stopping a BAME person as its automatically turned into some massive race story when it might not be to do with race at all.

Too many in the UK looking for problems that are not there - now Covid-19 is racist deary me.

Well to be fair they stop BAME people about 6 times as often as anybody else...

But is that solely down to skin colour or because a large amount of working class BAME live in more deprived/crime ridden areas?

Wasnt there a white fella pulled over by a cop during lockdown where the cop was caught trying to stitch the lad up? I guarantee had that lad been BAME and not white it would have been automatically labelled a racially motivated incident.

Its like people think racism is a game of bingo where the quickest person to shout it gets a prize - for me its a serious thing and it just gets distorted so much by idiots on social media to the point people get fed up of it - the coco pops thing and tanning being racist is a perfect example.

If one ethnicity is making up 3% of the population and over 20% of police stop and search is it not reasonable to ask why?

You really won't listen to anyone will you? People have lived experiences which show you to be talking nonsense, there are stats to show it, there is huge research in to it but you reckon something based on nothing but, what I can only assume is, prejudice.

Why are you concentrating on coco pops and tanning if not to discredit people striving for equality? It doesn't matter, it's not being debated in parliament, it's just some people asking questions. If you look at those questions and say 'hmmm, I'm not gonna take racism seriously now' then you were never going to and you've finally found what you think is an acceptable excuse.

Wouldn't a large number of working class BAME living in deprived/crime ridden areas, as you state in explanation of why they are disproportionately stopped by Police, prove that our society is structurally racist?

Incidentally, when trawling the stats on stop and search I discovered that London makes the most stop and search of every race... Except black people who are statistically most llikely to be stopped and searched in Dorset and white people who are most likely to be stopped on Merseyside. Maybe @ForeverBlue92 really is getting stopped disproportionately.

Who said tanning was racist mate?

No it just proves police stop people more in crime ridden areas.

The estate I live on now (nice new build) has alot of Asian families and you never see a cop car about. Compare that to where I grew up on and police cars/helicopters were a regular thing.

Im not saying there aint racist cops about in the UK - just that alot of those stop and searches are more than likely just cops doing their job.

With resources such bare thanks to Tory cuts I doubt most bobbies have the time or efforts to go out of their way making life hard for one set of people.

People in the UK carry on like its the Deep South of America when for the majority of cases it isnt.

Class System - not racism.
