Yeah I don't get the whole going from 2m to 1m. I mean does anyone get closer than one meter to someone if they are not doing something weird with them?

I have found the 2m thing to be really easy to stick too, I don't see how people struggle with it (obviously on public transport etc you will.)

That is true but the 2 meters is making it hard for pubs
My missus was saying that the government also said that couples should stay 2 metres apart and not touch each other even though they live together. I don't remember reading that like but my missus isn't one for lying.

That only applies if you live with someone who is on the shielded list.

I dont believe in any of this nonsense but surely it's only 2 metres if you spend a measurable amount of time with someone. If you simply walk past someone in the street within one metre of them then surely even the most pathetic of the terrified wretches cant complain.

That has always been ok.

edit. Unless they sneeze all over you.

I don't really see why to be honest. Set the pub out into sections, you can still have tables for groups (bubbles and all that) but spread them out a bit and have table service rather than everyone going the bar (or a one way system).

Bogs would be a problem I guess.

It's not ideal but everyone needs to adapt somewhat for the time being. The biggest problem would be keeping people to adhere to the rules whilst the steadily get more and more drunk.

Here's the science:

2 metre's distance = 3 people in Gregg's and a line outside stretching 50 metres = £300 per 30 minutes
1 metre's distance = 6 people in Gregg's and a line outside stretching 50 metres = £600 per 30 minutes

1 metre it is then.....

Many pubs make little profit as it is, 2 metre distancing makes it impossible for the majority to stay afloat.

It made it hard for the back to schools plan hence the rowing back, that's why some of us piled in, such an easy thing to wallop this Tory Government. I actually beginning to believe they are lizards, who have no sense or comprehension of our reality. Its very evident there is no robust debate of policy or seeking advice from anyone apart from themselves before they present it to public. Rudimental mistake as well...
