Tbf the hospitality sector need this.

They need their profits, we need safety. They shouldn't be opening up with a daily death rate of 200-300 people. It's obscene that these spivs are that desperate to make money they'll risk adding more to that scandalous daily total.

It's not about making money, people need to pay rent and pay bills tho.

It's not a daily rate of 300, most of them are backlogs

Next thing to go will be the essential 2 metre distancing rule, something that apparently halves infection rates.

Some witch doctor will be corralled into explaining the schmience behind the reduction to a metre.

Yeah I don't get the whole going from 2m to 1m. I mean does anyone get closer than one meter to someone if they are not doing something weird with them?

I have found the 2m thing to be really easy to stick too, I don't see how people struggle with it (obviously on public transport etc you will.)

The people with the money need to make more money. That's why people need to pay rent and bills.

If the country came to a standstill which if kind of did then there should have been a status quo. Somewhere down the chain someone is demanding their money and thats where it all goes wrong. More than likely Johnson's mates.

Apparently the evidence is there to show 1.5m is safe. I think that's the rule in France. But the British public are generally thick as **, so you need to have that buffer otherwise if you give us an inch we'll take a yard.

Slight increase in new infections in Germany today. Still to be seen if it's a trend. Was out for a bevvy last night and things were looking very normal indeed.

The first mention of Ferguson you make in this thread is here:

Which is from the free to read part of a Telegraph article. It gives no information as to what the criticism is of Ferguson's modelling or if the criticism is valid.

Interesting about your post regarding if the UK will have Europe's highest death toll?

Your next post on Ferguson is this:

Interestingly contrasting with this regarding Cummings:

Your next post about Ferguson is this:

Which seems like a 'everyone is to blame but let's wait and see' type response

Which then transferred into another copy and paste of a free to read Telegraph:

Then followed by:

Which is a bit of a contrast to your 'nobody knows'

Then we get this:

Presumably the 'many times' are the 6 paragraphs from the non paywall part of the Telegraph?

Then we finally arrive at this drivel:

I don't have to assume, the thread is a record...you read a headline in the Telegraph and saw an opportunity to shift blame away from Government at a time in March when the UK had gone from 100 deaths to 1000 deaths in just under two weeks.

You've just doubled down on your initial 'evidence' since as if it is established fact. It's honestly pathetic.

Sorry, I’m just having a five minute break in teaching my granddaughter. If you wait by your keyboard I’ll get back.....

A further 151 people have died in the UK after contracting coronavirus, official figures show today.

The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) said 41,279 people had died in hospitals, care homes and the wider community after testing positive for coronavirus in the UK as of 5pm on Wednesday.

A further 1,266 people have also tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of infections to 291,409.

I don’t think anyone can really. But, like you, I believe that it will be reduced to 1 metre.....

It's for businesses, primarily.

Oh well, just as long as some booze hound or Greggs make their money again, what's another few thousand lives?
