We took a shedload of bottles, plastics and cardboard early this week. Queued up for half an hour, then they told us they were only taking garden rubbish when we got to the front of the queue. Wasn't best pleased. Told us to look at the website for information on what items we can take on what days. The website tells us absolutely f all.

Dont you have roadside collections in Cornwall? Tis Cornwall you live in isnt it?

No chance I could put the amount of empty bottles I have out for the once monthly glass collection.
They would think i was running a boozer from my house.

The R rate is going to fluctuate many times over the next few weeks in various regions, however talk of regional lockdowns wouldn’t work and would only cause massive unrest and economic issues in those areas.

The government are only relaxing measures because they were breaking their own rules, simple as that. If they backtrack now and relock, the entire country will go to the wall because they wouldn’t be able to maintain funding for furloughed employees or self employment

Only the glass is monthly.
The other recycle stuff is fortnightly.

The story in private eye is that Johnson delayed imposing the lockdown cos he had a baby shower party lined up at chequers and didn't want to miss out. I can fully believe that take on it.

TBF we’ve all sacrificed 40,000 people to have a baby shower....

If they were only taking bottles or cans around here once a month I suspect covid would be the least of my problems .

No chance some people would observe it anyway, especially with the Summer just around the corner proper .

Oh the r rate has gone up to over 1. Has it now?

Because they certainly haven't tested everyone. If they did then that rate would be much higher , so all that tells us is that more people have positive tests. As they haven't tested everyone though, the actual figure is a mystery.

Didnt know the tips were even open ffs. Been a bit ashamed at the wine bottles in our recycling boxes for weeks!

By us you have to book a time slot to visit the tip. They’ve got two guys outside to check. They are both sitting in chairs everyday because no one cba booking a slot. Complete overreaction and waste of time......
