Haha Dave, I notice that the article you posted has absolutely nothing to do with the accuracy of the science in the study, but rather academics getting annoyed because a website would rather publish news on findings that have wide appeal rather than esoteric research with no little to no interest.

So there most likely is a genetic basis for some ethnicities to be more susceptible to the Virus. I know this doesn’t tie in with Marxist Rhetoric which is why you can’t get your head round it.

Also, where are BAME employees more likely to work? Cities where they have a high viral load or rural areas where there haven’t been many outbreaks?

Funny you say that, my partner has been covering in a Dialysis ward for the past few weeks, the senior nurses there are Jamaican and are referred to as ‘Momma’ by all of the other nurses.

Indeed. Those who are dying are, on average, 55 and above, which by the way the NHS pays staff means that they are likely to be on a decent wage, purely by virtue of their length of service. There are undoubtedly cultural elements to their health, but poverty or class is very unlikely to be one of the factors.

Even the lumping of all non-white ethnicity into one group seems absurd, like an Indian doctor has the same genetic vulnerabilities as a Filipino nurse, or a Nigerian HCA.

It does, but also pretending that there’s one answer to the problem seems absolutely absurd.

‘It all comes down to socio-economic reasons!’ is doing some heavy lifting when comparing a Doctor to a Health Care Assistant.

There are likely to be many strands to this and the grouping of people into one homogeneous mass will only obscure these for years to come.

you think it’s been bad so far mate , if I’d been in charge you’d know about . Morale amongst the staff would be decent mind and I’m really loyal but the country would be in complete chaos, no leadership or direction and we’d limp from one crisis to another .
