Thankfully this nurse had good insurance and it doesn’t seem to have a deductible - many are not as lucky


How on gods earth can it cost $18k...was it a golden needle, or a swab made for the face hair of a thousand new born babies, administered by a team of twenty doctors and flown by private aircraft to a testing unit in Switzerland.....ffs......

They do often ramp up the costs for the insurance to then negotiate down but if you don’t have insurance you then have to do the negotiation yourself.

Few years ago was billed ~$1000 for a simple fasting bloodwork test at a local hospital that was going to come out of our deductible - took me multiple phone calls to get it discounted to a more reasonable figure.
