Japan’s experience would suggest that neither issue are insurmountable- at least if steps are taken.


Absolutely - if the UK can get this right then there is no reason why any further lockdown would be needed, but of course there are severe questions about whether we are getting this right.
 
I have a new fun game reading Twitter. Go through a bunch of replies to a COVID tweet and punch yourself in the balls at the first mention of totalitarian, 1984 or anything of that ilk. The quicker you punch yourself in the balls the quicker you’re reminded there’s better things to do.
 
Yesterday the figure was 17%. Much of which will be due to people who have returned to work while still social distancing.

Yesterday Paris was 33%.
Stockholm 39%.
Berlin 32%.
Lyon 31%.
Hamburg 28%.

Millions of people are obeying social distancing and staying at home. Including I would imagine the vast majority of people on this forum.
Hold on, you're shifting the goalposts. You were comparing what the situation was in London and Manchester over the last 2 months, not comparing them with other European cities.

As said: you dont seem to be able to understand your own graphs.
