Your hearts in the right place but you are naive to life mate - this thing is going to cause alot more than just illness - people will lose livelihoods, jobs, homes, people committing suicide because of failed businesses/losing everything etc.

Unfortunately whilst all this is going on when you have a mortgage and kids you dont have time to feel sorry for yourself / worry about with what social media is saying because if your head drops what chance do they have?

I used to worry alot like you mate when I was alot younger but having lost a friend in their early 30's to cancer it made me realise life is short regardless of whats going on and what you cant control you can either worry about it until it destroys you mentally or you can just get on and do your best and what will be will be.

Mate, cut the bullshit adult “you’ll learn one day son” act, you’re in your twenties at a push going by this post, possibly younger even than me:

not sure how any of that rather accurate summary of what this is doing / going to do squares with the earlier post:

I think these threads have shown that you are vastly over reacting to this mate.

Define damage.

Well both the flu and norovirus kills more each year, particularly the young.

Until this thing has been around for 12 months you can’t really say that with any confidence. We also don’t know how many recent flu deaths were in fact COVID-19. We also know the world doesn’t react this seriously to those which shows this isn’t the same scenario.

"define damage"? do you not read the news?

I do read and watch the news.

But I'm not as influenced by the opinions spouted by newsreaders.

I even believe this will in a years time will have killed less than the flu worldwide.

The media are preying on the unknown. And as humans we are wired to be concerned about this more so than the known, which is fair enough. But at the same time, do some research and listen to the facts.

Well Maryland is closed. no schools, no visitors to see patients at workplace, no gatherings over 250.

But hell Costco is open and each register only had about 60 people in line. Which is surely safe.

no doubt your research has been in-depth and rigourous

Anyone who has done any research is aware that this isn’t some joke disease that does nothing, and is in fact a serious respiratory infection. That’s not mentioning the well documented nature of the coronavirus family mutating a lot and quickly - meaning it is feasible that it could mutate to gain more deadly symptoms.

But aren’t the facts coming from the newsreaders you’re saying to ignore?

Didnt say I was much older than you did I bud? As I said if you spend your life worrying about everything you cant control sooner or later you'll have a breakdown.

Enjoy life whilst you can as believe me you dont know whats around the corner (this is a perfect example).
