Very good article regarding the spread of the virus...lots of good graphics. Definitely worth a read. Among all the information is the suggestion that this is 30x worse than the flu (not 3x or 5x or even 15x...30x) USA projection of about 480,000 deaths as a worst-case scenario. (note "Worst-case"...it might be better, let's hope).

Hate to say it, but only full lockdown will stop this spread; the net reproductive rate of this virus is about 2.2, which is way to high. Italy learned this too late. France, UK and USA, etc. are even more late to the party. It's gonna cost us a lot to clean this up. Lockdown is needed to get it below 1 (look at Singapore and Taiwan). But lockdown will cost hundreds of billions of dollars to a country like the USA. With that in mind, we should be seriously dumping cash into biomedical research for vaccines and other preventatives (network all possible ideas, use $$ as an incentive to scientists with ideas, whatever it takes). Imagine spending 1 billion dollars to find a cure if it saves both lives and >100s billion dollars in lost revenue.
