Current Affairs Coronavirus Thread - Serious stuff !!!

I think these threads have shown that you are vastly over reacting to this mate.

Simply put what do you expect people to do - not go to work? Not be around friends/family?

Maybe you live an isolated life I dont know but simply put the vast majority of everyday folk will be getting on with their lives (whilst obviously being sensible like not travelling to Italy or washing hands regulary).

You seem to be terrified of this which is fine but believe me stop reading the 24/7 news and doomsday social media and you'll start to feel better - I guarantee you'll still be alive in 12 months time.

I’m 28 I will of course be alive in 12 months time.

My cancer-surviving grandparents in their 80’s may well not survive the next few months because of nonchalant nobheads like you.

How can you sit there and comfortably type this knowing you could possibly one day kill someone with that kind of behaviour?

Mate I think the proper way to act is somewhere in between. Yes, if you are sick or have any symptoms, take all necessary health precautions. If you are fighting fit and feel well, and if present government regulations permit you, go about your normal routine, don't panic, and do all the sensible stuff (proper hand washing, use hand sanitizers, etc.).

Overly panicking and barricading oneself from the world from behind 300 rolls of loo paper ain't setting a good example (not saying you do that, obviously ;) )

So what do you suggest?

I pack up work?
Not go out to do the food shop?

See my kids homeless and without food in their bellies?

You need to grow up fella - simply put [Poor language removed] happens in the world and we have to deal with it the best way we can.

This isn't a fairytale its a pandemic for a reason but sadly little things like mortgage payments dont suddenly disappear.

Indeed, the kids on here are frightened and that’s life. Meanwhile the government is going to get bounced into closing everything down. I’ve no real problem with that, but they have to keep the primary schools open or our country’s ability to fight this virus will be seriously hampered.....

I am in the middle ground group I just don’t believe people are being sensible enough in how they approach their normal routine. It would weigh heavily on me if I didn’t feel I did everything in my power to not be a carrier of this thing and I hoped everyone would have that same logical mindset.

I have 5 toilet rolls just to clarify I’m not in the panicking group.

Where have I said do that? If you’re fit and healthy you don’t need to self-isolate but I reckon you’ll probably still shake hands with people, be in contact with older people etc. because you don’t sound like someone that cares.

Also massively suspicious of you being of an age to even have kids let alone actually have some with your normal posting demeanour.

The line they've been peddling has been proven to be a failure. They'll now come into line with other nations' protocol. What a shambles they are. They've wasted precious time and killed and endangered countless people's lives....them and their modelling.

Noone (apart from the Chinese) is suggesting you do that, but you should really stop claiming this is just a social media panic.

To me anyone with this virus or showing symptoms that are still ignoring health advice and disregarding others are walking into the realms of manslaughter in my eyes. Can’t believe half the arrogant, shameful wank I’ve read in this thread.

You have the same opinion of those with the seasonal flu, norovirus, etc ?

Your hearts in the right place but you are naive to life mate - this thing is going to cause alot more than just illness - people will lose livelihoods, jobs, homes, people committing suicide because of failed businesses/losing everything etc.

Unfortunately whilst all this is going on when you have a mortgage and kids you dont have time to feel sorry for yourself / worry about with what social media is saying because if your head drops what chance do they have?

I used to worry alot like you mate when I was alot younger but having lost a friend in their early 30's to cancer it made me realise life is short regardless of whats going on and what you cant control you can either worry about it until it destroys you mentally or you can just get on and do your best and what will be will be.
