They;re not a placebo, how can they be a placebo for the public and vital for health workers?Cos they get infected. Hence why the NHS use single use PPE, (when they have enough). I am not suggesting wearing them is useless, I am suggesting that wearing them is not quite the game changer you seem to think it is.
You made a point denigrating a poster who quoted some Irish medics with the wonderful line that hand hygiene is still vital after wearing gloves. That kinda proves that they are at best, a placebo amongst non medical folk.
Nope. You censured @Nymzee, who errs toward caution: gloves on.
If he wants to take a belt and braces approach to staying virus free why on earth would you encourage him not to?

Thanks for that, been looking for one that I can order for my uncle. Just go on the lloyds pharmacy website?
Superdrug are selling them online as well - slightly more expensive at £69
Hard to argue with that but good luckThis please.
The WHO, as does much of the advice, states that gloves, just like any surface can get contaminated. So regular hand washing is the best approach to take.Quite a lot of evidence now that mask wearing has a decent cost benefit both at an individual level and a societal one.
@RAFUH iirc you previously advised against gloves but recommended mask - that correct?
Not keen on this tbh. The NHS should be sorting this out and providing for free......

The PL clubs have apparently spent about £4m on testing as part of project restart. I don't think they are getting them for freeFootballers, apparently. You know the nation's frontline defenders. And wingers.
Still pro mask wearing?
