Surely more reason to inform people better.

The information isn't your problem here, it's people uneducated about the risk to them and others and people leveraging that lack of awareness for political advantage.

It's precisely the lack of this type of information available to the public and inabity to make informed decisions that allows politicians to make political capital in these scenarios.

Inform them better of what? That the gov have messed this up? Again, we know they have, but we need to all pull together and follow the rules not just get pissed at them and go against the advice.

I couldn't give a wank about your last point because we're not heading into an election any time soon.

Hancock trying to promote mental health awareness. Doesnt he know that it's so under funded that theres a 6 month waiting list for counselling?

Did you mention needing a lockdown on here ?.....
Doubt it. I think I didn't most of it messing about. I'm flattered you ghink me posting on here has significant impact on the UK decision making process though.

What I will say is that the scientific suggestions in the early stages of the response was that China, who had severe restrictions in place, had effectively curtailed the outbreak and that similar measures in the UK should be considered.

The irony that it is the "Tories" giving out this "free money" to "shirkers" seems completely lost on you. It is not the Tories who are currently spreading this bile and creating these divides, it is the people in the media and on social media, and in my opinion they need to rein it in. Starting Now.

I'm one of the very few on here who believes that politics shouldn't be playing a part in fighting this virus. It's a global crisis not evidenced since the last world war, and we need to work together to come through it. That includes being understanding of other people's feelings and worries, because not everybody is going to be affected by this in the same way.

I haven't any issues with mistakes being criticised, nor bad decisions being questioned. But some of the stuff on here goes well beyond that. Further down the line there will be a time for recriminations, but not now when we are in the middle of the crisis. At this stage we don't even know how long this crisis will last and whether they will ever find an effective vaccine.

Hopefully there will be a reckoning one day in the form of a thorough and independent inquest. Anybody who has acted outside the law should be prosecuted, and the same with anybody who is guilty of gross misconduct within their workplace. I would also hope that those who have performed their jobs badly within the various government institutions, and in that I include permanent as well as political positions, also face some sort of reparation. The main thing though is that we need to learn from the findings to ensure they never happen again.

We're a long long way from that point at the moment though, and all those that want to impose immediate recriminations are doing little more than hindering the already very difficult job of getting through this virus.

I disagree, why wait till its over?

Its still happening, the tory death cult is still making mistakes that are costing people their lives.

Their inaction, their incompetence is killing people now, so why wait for more to die before we demand they do better?

When its all over, most people will sigh and say "phew, thank God thats over", they wont be looking for who to blame, they will just be glad its over and they get away with it, AGAIN.

What're the repercussions? Boot them out and bring Labour in?

Yes Pete I was commissioning billboards, buying up advertising space and running a leaflet campaign.

'Jebus says the UK needs Lockdown now'

Haha, and it's not as if lots of people hadn't pulled their children from school and started taking precautions well before the government Spaffed money up the wall telling everyone to wash hands and think of the queen.

Were you visiting a mistress for nights of naughtiness too? The nation's curtain twitchers need to know.
Easy to maintain this type of illicit activity when you can use full PPE as cover.

I'm struggling now the guidelines keep reducing the level of PPE needed, I'm basically down to using cellotape and plastic bags...
