No says the man who has 10 years experience as an investment manager, looks about c£2bn of assets and has post grad qualifications in financial analysis.

I understand the population of different EU countries just fine. As I understand framing of information to suit your point.

Hahaha...is that it. 10 years of looking after a paltry £2Bn.....not forgetting your post grad qualifications.....

Oh deffo mate. The funny thing is those people who are saying the government should be forking out money all over the gaff through this pandemic (and rightly so) will be the same people whinging and slagging the government off to death if they do a tax hike.

Yep that's inevitable, especially on social media. People love a good moan.

Debt is fine as long as you can service your debt. But there comes a point where a country reaches a level of debt they can't sustain.

There will be arguments over who the burden of debt falls on though, and it will probably be the younger generations who will have to deal with it going forward.

I think the important thing this time is that the solution needs to be a combination of tax increases and debt. Austerity as a measure is no longer an option because public services have already been depleted beyond reason and I think the government know this

Economically, the lockdown is massively greater than anything that may have happened through Brexit. Brexit is not a virus and doesn’t kill people. Brexit will be an absolute walk in the park compared to this virus and is happening at the best possible time, economically and socially.....

the end of the EU Transitional period, if it goes ahead as planned, will absolutely destroy the economy in the short term. There’ll be no furloughing to help businesses through the situation, it’ll be a case “find your own solution”.

You could see small business fold over night due to massive delays at the border; if these checks are referred inland there’ll be a gaping hole for exploitation.

Yes it doesn’t have an immediate public health impact like COVID-19, but the far greater implications will be detrimental to a generation.

couple all that with the current lockdown situation and it’s a massive recipe for disaster
