Taxes will go up after this is over. It is inevitable as far as I can see because the country's debt will be enormous.

But there are tonnes of different ways to do it and I think they should hold off as long as possible.

Oh deffo mate. The funny thing is those people who are saying the government should be forking out money all over the gaff through this pandemic (and rightly so) will be the same people whinging and slagging the government off to death if they do a tax hike.

Piece by piece, the 2019 Labour manifesto is being rehabilitated.

I can't speak for Labour, but this has already been common practice at the more enlightened employers. Toyota, for instance, have this as a fundamental part of their way of working, and they strive to not make redundancies wherever possible.

We've booked to go to Tenerife with Jet 2, but we've only actually paid £60 each for the deposits with the rest due in a few days time.

It's a decision now whether to just lose the deposits, which I am inclined to do, or pay up the full amount and take the chance or probably getting a refund.

I’m in exactly the same situation ( due to go end of July) and I’ve decided to just lose the deposit rather than fight for a refund later.

The Johnson Gang have given up on this. It's back to herd immunity without stating it - if it was ever dropped in the first place. They know it, and they also know that we know it.

They looked upon Ferguson as a nuisance who got in the way of their quick kill of half a million policy and had him fitted up. They have failed with the policies that have gained success in France, Spain and Italy, because they never ever had a proper lockdown - and they never wanted it.

We are at the mercy of a bunch of cut throat butchers.

Johnson is in good company with catching the virus - the Brazilain President and the Russian PM have caught it. Maybe the new slogan - stay alert, common sense - was designed only for Johnson.

Yes. Had the virus not happened, the Remainers would by now be squealing and whinging about the ‘cliff edge’, ‘economic destruction’ ‘yada yada yada’ and putting out all of their manufactured faux outrage. However, now dealing with an actual real emergency with real and massive economic and health issues, the country really is having to face economic downturn. Deal or no deal, no one else will die as a result, no one will even notice any economic changes, and the Remainer media and champions will have no words of dire consequences that will in any way compare to where we are anyway. It will make no difference. We will be in an economic hole anyway, so then we will start building again but from a new base, under our own rules and laws, without asking permission of the other 27 and Brussels, we will be more competitive and will prosper faster.

The EU also know this and so there is now far more pressure upon them than there has ever been to get a deal sorted. But if they don’t, it won’t make a huge difference to the U.K. anyway. The timing is perfect...

Please stop talking about economics. You have absolutely no idea what you are on about.
