In times of National Crisis, and I cannot think of a better description of where we are at the moment, it would be useful if our media were to act in a responsible manner for the benefit of the country. Not to whip up hysteria or score political points and certainly not to undermine advice. If the media say they cannot understand what they are being told, then perhaps they should find out and attempt to help explain things, instead of continually whinging and moaning and glorifying in the demonstration of their own abject stupidity.....

I asked you a straight question a while back and you didn't answer.

What do you think the Government deserves criticism for?

China have tested 5 million of Wuhan's 11 million residents and now they'll test the other 6 million over the next 10 days.

Meanwhile, the UK Banana Republic have tested on average 70,000 per day...and only that amount if people can drive out to a remote location.

But I thought China had beaten this and that their numbers are not growing. So what is the point of doing another 6 million tests, with testing kits that don’t work, on the populace. Have they left the Wuhan Lab door open again....

Found this a bit confusing on the Rebuild Plan:

People may exercise outside as many times each day as they wish. For example, this would include angling and tennis. You will still not be able to use areas like playgrounds, outdoor gyms or ticketed outdoor leisure venues, where there is a higher risk of close contact and touching surfaces. You can only exercise with up to one person from outside your household – this means you should not play team sports, except with members of your own household.

Tennis isn't a team sport so can you play tennis with someone outside your household where you're both touching the tennis balls?

It shouldn’t. Look at South Korea and how they’ve dealt with this latest nightclub cluster of cases.

Is there anyone who looks at what they are doing there and thinks “that’s good, but it would be better to sit on it for a week and see how many people turn up at A&E?”

That's one country though. Throughout Europe there are a lot of very smart people grappling with this, and it's hard to imagine they're ignoring countries that have got through this relatively unscathed just for the sake of it. I don't hold any sway by Johnson's terrible leadership, or the bumblers he has in his cabinet, but the people on the Sage committee, for instance, are pretty clued up on this stuff, so it seems all kinds of wrong for armchair spectators to absent mindedly throw out accusations that they should just do what South Korea do and we'd all be fine, the economy would be fine, easy peasy.

I actually made a list a while back. You must excuse me if I don’t give personal replies as it becomes slightly boring when twenty posters ask the same thing to something I have already answered....
