The increase in fines for social distancing breach was an odd one.
I missed the amount ?
( if that was mentioned ? )

The way I see it is that if it means some bloke wanting to do a spot of fishing alone can do so without fear of being arrested whilst idiots playing footie in a group of 10 with their mates get slapped with a bigger fine then happy days.

For anyone wondering how small kids at school will socially distance:

True mate - although Isnt the risk of COVID to kids very small anyway from whats being studied?

Obviously they can spread it like but I dont get why people moan - without a vaccine COVID will still be here come September so what do we do cancel school forever?

I have read extensively on this very issue as I am a teacher myself so naturally I am a bit concerned! Kids do seem to be largely unaffected themselves, which is one saving grace.

However they seem to be just as contagious. I have read many studies suggesting that pretty much every age group carries and spreads the virus. I mean if you can catch it from a surface, why not a living, breathing, snotty human? So the concern here is twofold:

1. The people in contact with the kids are at risk of catching it. Not just teachers, but the teaching assistants too who work so closely with these kids. Therefore I can't see how you can conscionably send back these adults without giving them PPE.
2. The kids mingle with each other, then go back to separate households. Some of these kids could live 50+ miles apart. They mix with adults who then go out to different places of work, supermarkets etc. And thus the infection rate spikes.

So......

Can we visit family members at their home or not?

I mean he has said I can go out as much as I want now. I don't care about that, want to go and see my mum.

Probably more to do with education/socialisation being vital in a childs development at KS1 age and obviously Yr6 have sats that leads them into secondary school.

The other years can realistically wait a few extra months.

You don't have to open schools for young children to socialise, and if their education is so vital at that age, how come children in countries leading the way in education haven't even started school at that age?

He said almost nothing, yet the usual suspects are up in arms as if he’d said that all children under the age of two years were to be killed....

The main thing seemed to be that people who couldn't work from home could go to work, but presumably shops and other facilities would remain shut, so I'm not sure what's changed really, as I thought that was kinda the policy anyway.

Some may re open in July, but expect it to be very strict with social distancing etc
Huge for that sector this delay.
A summer of Euro footy was on the cards and now nothing.

Even though my company is still taking good money, nailed on loads of redundancies will be on the horizon sooner rather than later.
