Why ?

Every single one has been open from day one since this shiz happened and all provide a service that is permitted under the guidelines.

All of them bar Waterfields are small privately owned businesses, who are doing their best to survive, taking nothing from the government by staying open and are providing local people with the opportunity to buy what they need locally, without the need to go to a supermarket.

You’re going mad.

Are they?

Supermarkets
Pharmacies
Petrol stations
Newsagents
Bicycle shops
Home and hardware stores
Laundrettes
Garages
Pet shops
Post Offices Banks

Apart from the newsagents none of them are considered essential to be on the approved list.

That is a very huge caveat but he has been a decent source from what I can tell, fingers crossed
It adds up with what we know about viruses in general, eventually there is a less deadly mutation, and it becomes the dominant one, leading to an eventual downturn in the disease.

The reason for this? A less deadly mutation doesnt kill the host as quickly or as often, and living hosts are much better at transferring a virus to others than dead hosts, hence the less deadly mutation spreads quicker.

Think you will find they were.

The local police obviously feel that they are, as they’re regular visitors to all of them.

For once common sense seems to be the order of the day

What essential shops are open?
Shops that are exempt from the Government's ban are food retailers, pharmacies, hardware stores, corner shops, petrol stations, shops in hospitals, post offices, banks, newsagents, laundrettes and pet shops.

I visited the cheese shop last Tuesday (I think) while passing through the village. While they said footfall was done, they're struggling to cope with online demands.

If they can safely be open and not have to rely on state aid (furlough scheme and loans), I have no issue with them being open and contributing to the economy.

The guidance is that the shops can remain open as long as they sell basic necessities or support key work (Screwfix etc.), and food is obviously a necessity.

Or is that @davek believes that the multi-national supermarkets should reap the bumper profits, while small businesses go down the pan at the tax-payers expense?

FFS.

Right from the start I have been a model citizen. Cared for my parents, at distance, helped Mrs R with her physio and stuff, social distanced, minimal time away from the house, watched the briefings and done what I am told.

My reward? A kopite wasp stung me the other day, and some wee beastie has bit me on my bollocks today.

Gonna be an extra few wines later. And blame mother effing nature.
are you sure it was a kopite? It may have been a hornet
