Cummings pals are involved with a data project looking at NHS efficiency.

This is a project tracking if people have come into contact with the virus.

I'm no fan of Cummings either, but, as I said, I know people working there, including on the ethics board that overseas the app, and they may be many things, but Dick Dastardly they are not.

you wouldn't believe just how hard it is becoming to supply PPE to the NHS. We don't want paying for the stuff, all we want is for the NHS to pay the 20% wages to top the Furlough up for the staff to come in and make it.

It's a bit of a joke. The Gov approached us we said no problem we will turn our manufacturing over. It then gets passed to the NHS to strike the deal... and they are so hard work.

So, assuming that there aren't a reserve group of scientific experts in the country that have a wildly different perspective on things, you must assume that the government have either diverged wildly from what the experts propose, or that you think Labour would have done so?

Scientific experts will fit in around what a ruling political class want. They are hired by them and they are paid by them. Does it surprise you that different types of government than this one get different results because of their differnt outlook?

Now watch as 'alternative SAGE' (not employed by HM Government) come to some very different conclusions on what should have happened and what should happen.

Now we are finally getting our act together and putting together a tracing program you have decided it’s worthless because it’s being done by a Conservative government. No Idea to be honest. I had a conference call with my directors yesterday and they we extremely downbeat on it all now. The NHS have led them in multiple paths and it's becoming a joke.

I'm not sure I'll download a tracking app myself. But certainly not because I think it's a conspiracy. Just because I'm not sure I want to.

I'll wait to see what exactly the app is designed for but I'm sceptical.

Starmer is coming across pretty well on bbc this morning I think. He's measured and his arguments are logical and he isn't resorting to party politics at every opportunity.

Didn't see it mate. What I want to see from opposition politicians are some genuine ideas and bits of constructive advice on how to move forward with this. Whether that be testing or PPE or exiting lockdown. Something positive rather than just criticism. Was he doing any of this?

He just made sensible points and wasnt being confrontational for the sake of it. Said hes meeting Johnson tomorrow and was happy to offer his opinions to help get the right measures in place.

So if the government SAGE says ‘Wear a mask’ and ALTSAGE Says ‘don’t wear a mask’, what will you do and will having differing scientific advice really help ?......personally I would have a quiet word in Sir David Kings ear and tell him that if he causes public confusion then he will be charged with Sedition......

I don’t know the strength or reliability of it but it seems a company called abbott laboratories are now marketing the antibodies test for £99. Looks like a major pharmaceutical player worth about £30bn so I’m assuming it might be genuine .

The problem with an ALTSAGE is that they have to come up with an alternative position to justify their existence. Agreeing with SAGE all the time will just raise the question 'what's the point of them'?
