Only way an app to track covid patients would work is if you tested everyone in the country.

Otherwise its singling people out like leppers.

Plus an app to essentially track our movements? I'm sure there was a book written about this back in 1984.

You only need to track people who test positive or show symptoms, then track down their contacts and make them quarentine.

You don't need to test everyone in the country for it to work. All they have to do is find any new cases.

Apps, like facebook, google etc track most peoples movements already through their phones.

You can just uninstall it after the we are through the worst of the pandemic.

Well done, you just figured out there are more poor than rich people. ;)

Trying to blame that on the Tories as well.

That stat is per 100,000. It's not affected by how many people are in each class.

Disadvantaged people are more likely to be in an occupation with regular physical customer contact, or work at a job where social distancing is not properly observed (e.g. packing plants in the US), and as such are more likely to be exposed. There are also reasons (e.g. diet) why they tend to have worse health outcomes overall.

As soon as he says we can open I’m more than happy for it to stop. I would be unhappy if it was stopped and we were still not allowed to open, but that is not what the article was suggesting.......
The same guy who stated he was prepared to go th the end of June.....?with furlough?

You think you will be able to uninstall it? Bless

I would put a crisp £10 note on this sending an alert somewhere when you uninstall it, especially if you've generated or received an alert in the recent past.

I doubt the government needs people to vonluntarily install an app in order for them to be able to track peoples movement, through cell phones, or read peoples emails etc.

People pretty much give up their personal privacy when they sign up to facebook and google etc.

I have no worries about installing the app as it will help them control the spread of the virus.

It's shame if people refuse to install it when all it will do is increase the spread of the virus and make contract chasing far harder for the government.

Each to their own though.

Feck this government lad....

No way I would be installing it. Don't trust Tories these days on privacy and English Men and castles and what goes on behind closed doors have long gone... Better my last pound the data base won't be exclusive to the NHS...
