TBF there should be a look at why the NHS needs so much disposable PPE on the first place - if (for example) gowns and scrubs can be made reusable and can be sterilised then this really should be done, even if there is an increase in cost.

Indeed. It is disgraceful the amount of landfill coming out of hospitals.....

The problem is going to be that the most vulnerable to the virus are also the least likely to have a smartphone. I’d wonder if there might be a work around with a wearable Bluetooth device that could be produced that links back to a system. There could potentially be a lot of ‘dark’ infections otherwise.

I read that another option could be some sort of wristband.

Sales Directors look at billings because that’s what they are driven by. They are not particularly interested in costs. The Finance and Operations people are, but that’s for another day.

I totally agree it was to save face, but as was even said by the medic the other day, we can count them going out or we can count them coming back. If you count them going out you at least see a trend of the continuing tests. If you measure them coming back you have absolutely no idea if or when they may do so, so just get peaks and troughs.....
You’ve just made my argument for me. You have no idea when they might come back. So why count them.
Smoothing the data is not needed nor is it helpful here. An accurate picture of what is happening then. Either the government are stupid and don’t understand this or they do understand this and are dishonest.

Wow that would be total game changer.

Would be good for employees going back to work like.

Still for me though we are focusing too much for testing of the virus and not enough for antibodies - when 80%+ of the population get mild to no symptoms surely its more worthwhile getting these antibody tests done to see who has had it and what percentage of folk can start going back to work without fear of immediate infection.

Something has to be counted. Some companies focus on billings more than receipts because it gives slightly advance knowledge of the financial state of the company. Similar with these tests I suppose, you can count them going out or count them coming back. Personally I would look at both numbers, to see if we are on the ball in getting them out , to see just how many of them bother to do the Tests, and of course what the results show........

They could have just looked at how many people's results had come back that day? So just the actual completed tests.

No doubt mate and sport, visiting family, protecting vulnerable groups etc.

Seems like the anti body test may be rolled out soon enough, i know we are planning it in June - though is suspect it will be latter in the summer.

Surely we could’ve been prepared a lot better than we have been?

I’m surprised there isn’t some sort of pandemic response process that filters from government right through to small business.

Everywhere seems to have been caught cold by this

It may be a freak event but it’s something that’s been threatened for decades now and was inevitable to happen at some stage. No excuse to not have the basic supplies at the ready
iirc, there was a 2016 Pandemic Report that got lost in the How Much ! committee stage

You might find this interesting mate! Would certainly blow our presumed timeline wide open, though there may be other explanations.

You won't be able to uninstall it, they might make it so it 'looks' like its been uninstalled, but it will still be in there lurking.
#tinfoil

You joke...
Not that i will have a smart phone, just no way I will have an enforceable app on any device that I own. Won't even use work lappy on my internet, made them give me sim card for broadband, as I had mobile router for holidays...
