Is it even accurate tho?

I've heard experts say that hand washing has a minimal impact on negating spread because it is an air-bourne virus, making large congregations of people in confined spaces a sure way to propagate its spread.

So someone is talking out of their arse.

Coughing releases it massively to close surroundings, so yes it's naive to think washing your hands will do much.

Schools in Ireland to close from 6 this evening for 2 weeks it will probably have another week added to bring us to the Easter holidays. Possibly 5 weeks off

Need to take a leaf or two out of the Danes book:

The Danish Parliament passed new emergency laws that include giving the authorities power to access people’s homes without a court order in case of suspected Coronavirus cases.

The Health authorities have been given power to ration essential medicines at pharmacies, and supermarkets can be ordered to ration food to counter hoarding. The danish parliament is expected to close after it has finished passing the new emergency laws. Hospitals have canceled all no emergency operations.

All non essential public workers have been sent home for two weeks on full pay. And religious services and sports events have been cancelled.

the dow dropped 7% on opening, triggered the circuit Breaker (trading ceased for 15 mins) dropped nearly 3% when trading resumed.
I've just had lunch with a mate that retired before Christmas knowing he had a decent share portfolio that would see him through a comfortable retirement.
As of this morning, that portfolio was worth 36% less than when he retired just 3 months ago. He knows it'll recover in time when all this blows over but he is rightfully very worried.

A spokesman said:

They were identified, informed and advised as part of contact tracing related to an existing case. The member of staff concerned has been asked to self-isolate at home. This tried and tested method is to ensure we are able to minimise any risk to them, our patients and the wider public.

He'll survive.
People living in France and Spain etc. had effectively 30% docked off our pensions when the pound crashed in 2009.
Bit of belt tightening but we survived.
