same in most places its the phrase the slamming the stable door shut after the horse has bolted springs to mind - EG they can see Italy in meltdown with this virus and just carry on with crufts horse racing and football etc and holidays to dangerous infected areas.its all about money and the economy fact....
Yeah it looks like a lot of people aren;t taking it seriously enough Joe. Still time to avoid an Italy scenario though hopefully.

Boris Johnson needs to take lead from other countries more severely affected by the virus. Italy reacted too late and thus it's already spiraled out of control now. The UK's numbers are small in comparison, but are rapidly increasing. As Prime Minister, he has had plenty of time now to find to conclusions and make decisions about what needs to be done.

Nobody should be out of pocket because of this, and nobody should be profiting from it; those caught re-selling sanitising products for many times their normal price should be fined heavily. Workers should have the option to work from home where it is feasible, and if it's not feasible there should be many extra measures put in place to make the workplace safer -- face masks, hand sanitisers, gloves, additional cleaning of equipment, etc.

Regarding mass gatherings, there is no reason for Johnson to do anything different than the likes of Italy, France and now Ireland, etc. Ban any and all public gatherings of more than 100 people until further notice, and make a decision as to play games behind closed doors or call them off completely.

Hospitals need to be quickly provided with additional supplies, and if necessary visas should be fast-tracked to get in additional doctors and nurses from abroad.

If so they'll bring the Easter Holiday's forward by two weeks, and likely give 4 weeks off in total.

Great for me because I work in Educational services at my local authority, so I'll be quiet for a month at least when I do go back to work :)

Who’s going to pay for all of the consequences of these actions ?

Bruce I see what you’re saying but it doesn’t fit into the current wet knickers style of thinking abound. Can you make it more terrifying perchance?

Is it even accurate tho?

I've heard experts say that hand washing has a minimal impact on negating spread because it is an air-bourne virus, making large congregations of people in confined spaces a sure way to propagate its spread.

So someone is talking out of their arse.
