There have been a further 684 coronavirus-related deaths in UK hospitals, the Department of Health has said.

That takes the toal number of COVID-19 patients to have died in UK hospitals to 19,506.

The growth rate of the disease continues to slow - it would now take 17 days for deaths to double as opposed to six days over the Easter weekend.






But its not working.

The lockdown in its current form can't happen again. Call me a conspiracy theorist if you want but the world economy was heading towards bust again like 08, nothing changed after that just continued with the same economic practices that got us there in the first place. Therefore the lockdowns suit them and they can blame the economic collapse that was looming anyway on the Coronavirus now. We're going to be paying for this for 10 to 20 years another lockdown after 6 months would add how many more years onto that?

If they want more lockdowns then the worlds current economic systems needs uprooted, scraped and changed.

The numbers would be far far far worse than they are without lockdown, we are talking a good 3/4 times the figures

Institute of Actuaries has calculated that to 20 April there were 30,000 more deaths than there would have been without Covid-19.

Far far higher than official figs and demonstrates just how many are dying either at home or on care homes, and not reported as Covid-19.

Horrific.

There's never a clear answer from any of these politicians. They use the term 'social disruptions' and the only way out of lockdown is a vaccine or drugs.

I'm assuming social disruption means we'll have work places open but nothing for leisure

It will be life Jim but not as we know it
People will have to get used to a new normal
Irish Government warning retailers not to have promotions /sales when they re open so as to avoid crowds
Retailers on the other hand have stock they need to shift and need a quick cash injection
My missus is ready for a shopping spree that will make Christmas look like ash Wednesday
