Current Affairs Coronavirus Thread - Serious stuff !!!

Maybe it's just me, but I get this funny feeling that after this new period of lockdown set by the government we're not going to see much movement from them at the end of it and it wouldn't surprise me if there isn't another few more weeks of lockdown after it mainly because they will want to play it safe, after making a balls up of everything else.
As an aside mate, can I just say that I was having a very enjoyable afternoon sitting in the sun listening to my Ipod. I'm not sure about you but listening to music, especially the oldies, helps take my mind off all the horrible things going on in the world at the moment. But then your song starts playing through the headphones, which instinctively made me think of you, which made me think of this thread and the Coronavirus. Which put me back at square one.

So I'd just like to say a big thanks mate ;).

They will definitely ease it up after this next lockdown ends as people will not follow it too much longer.
Each week that goes by more and more people are out there, schools will reopen and also shops and businesses while maintaining social distancing .
Leisure activities are going to be hardest hit as they are the hardest to social distance and there won't be any footy with crowds until August (next season) at the very earliest but more likely the new year.

In my opinion like

I`ve just had this out with my missus and she reckons people will more or less stick to it.

I`m not so sure, as this week I`ve seen a lot more people out and about than the last few weeks, particularly teenagers, plus the financial pressure from commerce and industry on the government must be immense.

As an example, the head of the Cornish Tourist Board has been in the media over the past few days, saying that if Cornwall doesn`t get some sort of Christmas in the Summer, that Cornwall will in effect be wiped off the map as a county.

I've been cycling to various parks in the city to work out each day and they are all busier than normal. The Tories are losing the dressing room here.

To be honest mate if I was 40 years younger and wasnt living with any elderly relatives I would probably think bollocks to it and take my chances so I think the young have to be applauded for the way they have stuck to it.

No queues at our shop at all this week so far.
Now I thought that this may be because people are a bit skint, but the money being taken at the tills is hitting expected budgets.
So people are just shopping as normal it seems.

We have had a huge delivery of PPE for staff use also. Hand gel, gloves, masks and even plastic visors.
So that begs the question if we can source it, how on earth can't the actual government of the country ?

I just find this government a tad cowardly mate and after cocking it up in the first place with their reaction to the virus, I'm not so sure that if the death numbers come way down they won't just take the easy option and go with a few more weeks of lockdown.

I am not convinced they are coming down much anyway , they are massaging the figures and constantly Lying to us.

Still not the end all be all trial, but....

Irresponsible of that person to be pushing that as fact

"This article is a preprint and has not been certified by peer review. It reports new medical research that has yet to be evaluated and so should not be used to guide clinical practice."

Edit: just had a look at her twitter. I should add "agenda driven" to irresponsible.
