So they are human trialling the Oxford Vaccine on Thursday, amazing progress to do it so fast. But my limited knowledge of vaccines, mean it's not a cure, but it prevents you from getting the full blown disease, maybe a milder form. So that would mean, you would have to be tested and be clear, before you take it. A whole lot of work to do, but progress and hope at last, hope it works.

The women scientist was on Marr on Sunday. They developed the MERS vaccine so are very confident it will succeed

I wasn't aware there was a MERS, but makes sense as there is one for SARS - just never went into full production as the infection died off. I'm sure that's the same for MERS.

I think it's been 3 weeks or so (maybe a bit less) since the first human trials on a COVID 19 vaccine started. There are easily 100s in development.

Absolute ton of money in it for the first to market.

If the surgeon can’t do his job to the best of his ability because he is underresourced then it is absolutely the responsibility of the health secretary.

here is a question for you.

in a war, if one side has guns and the other only has access to knives because their generals won’t fund the procurement of guns then is it the soldiers fault that they lose or the generals?

Leave Moyes out of this

Walked the wife home from work this afternoon through our local park. Place was utterly heaving. In amongst the usual cyclists and runners, there were several groups playing football, the ping pong tables were in use, one group of guys conducting what looked like football training for their team, various groups sat about on the grass.

I went home and tweeted that Matt Hancock should resign for making people behave in such a way.

Not that it's been bad in the evenings (very very quiet round here today and every night) but I have 100% noticed more cars out on the road in the day in the last week.

I've been on a bike ride every day bar today and Saturday, mind, so I am out at 1-3pm in a 'busy' time (as in people going to the shops maybe) but there has been a noticeable difference.

There's nowhere to go, though, so who are these people/what are they all doing?

The country parks are still blocked off around me and are no busier than they have been the last few weeks. Just walkers/runners/cyclists.

So where are all these cars off to? Are they just driving about for the sake of it? Or are companies who have been shut down for the last few weeks now instructing people to go back to work? they can't all be key workers. It's baffling me.

On its second clinical trial

Same near us today, never seen the park so busy, groups everywhere, literally 10-20 all socialising and having picnics! Crazy

Natives getting restless.

No chance the lockdown will last any further than these next 3 weeks imo - been busier most times I've been out with the dog.
