I think stating beliefs as facts is harmful. I also think that claiming people are racist without due cause is harmful.
I also have a problem with your opening premise that 'you can't raise doubts about the virus without being called a racist' because, on an almost hourly basis in this thread, someone suggests it is a conspiracy or manufactured or a Bio weapon without anyone even mentioning racism or xenophobia. Idiotic yes, racist no. And the example you gave was tenuous at best and at worst looks like an attempt to push the thread in an unsavoury direction.
I didn't say you can't raise doubts about the virus without being called a racist. I said you can't raise doubts because there are people who may accuse you of being a bigot. I didn't say it happens every time, but anyone familiar with Twitter for example, knows it absolutely happens.

No I'm simply saying that I didn't say you can't speculate without being called those things, but that there are people who will call you those things if they see you speculate about the virus being developed intentionally in a chinese lab.

Walked the wife home from work this afternoon through our local park. Place was utterly heaving. In amongst the usual cyclists and runners, there were several groups playing football, the ping pong tables were in use, one group of guys conducting what looked like football training for their team, various groups sat about on the grass.
I went home and tweeted that Matt Hancock should resign for making people behave in such a way.

I said that same sort of mentality is rife on here, which it is. Look at the whinging people have been doing simply because I went against orthodoxy. I should have been clearer with the racist/xenophobic comment, I'll concede, but the mentality on here is shocking.
