This isn't a party politics thing Pete. It's a competence thing. He won an overwhelming majority against the weakest opponent imaginable.

Why do you regard him as a big beast? What, in his career, has especially impressed you about his leadership, or any other skills? Would you hire him?
Exactly. If hes a big enough beast to get on the phone to trump and queenie he should be a big enough beast to address those who were stupid enough to vote for him.

I think France have started adding them in the last couple of weeks mate, hence their numbers have jumped radically - they didn't initially. They have appeared in some studies done in the last few days detailing a 40-50%, in Italy, Spain, France, Belgium and Ireland showing 43-57% of all virus deaths are in nursing homes and or other community settings as an European average.

They may well be measuring them, and be available on other graphs, but the Daily graphs showing the comparisons at these briefings only show deaths in hospitals.....

So having decided to buy ppe, and announced why didn’t the CS buy it.....
  • Shortage of PPE globally
  • Delay in supply chain because of disruption to supply chains
  • Wrong specification or a changing specification on what PPE was required by who in what circumstances
  • PPE has been ordered it's just too late in the process to have been stockpiled effectively
  • There is PPE but not sufficient logistics to get it where it is needed
  • It's the Civil Services job to advise and develop government policy - not manage supply chains and procurement
Take your pick from that.

The Scientist said that the graph showing the middle group of European Countries, France etc, is only showing deaths in hospital, so not sure where you are getting your data from....

He said, 'the slide is indexed .....for almost all the countries on this slide the reporting like the UK has been for hospital deaths'. Not in hospitals, Spain (57%), Italy (53%), France(45%) on the slide includes those that have died in care homes and at home.
