Dont know where thats from but that seems like utter bull to me frandel.
Where is that from?

I posted about this after watching the fella who came up with this timeframe getting interviewed on sky the other day

His name is Gerard Lyons and he's a former financial advisor to Boris Johnson and this traffic light system is his policy his company have drafted up and given to government, I think he did say the timescales are only based on IF the virus is under control, seems very optimistic to me like

His policy paper PDF

The Red and Amber phases last three weeks, allowing time for the effectiveness and safety of each
phase to be assessed, before proceeding to the next one.
o Lockdown extended from Monday 13th April to Monday 4th May
o Red phase: three weeks Monday 4th May to Monday 25th May
o Amber phase: three weeks Monday 25th May to Monday 15th June
o Green phase: from Monday 15th June
• We recommend that during any unlocking that increased testing and utilising technology to enhance
tracking are essential. The ideal should be mass testing using antibodies to see who has had the virus,
to influence decision making, not to determine who should be released. There too needs to be use of
technology whether NHSX aiming to develop Singapore’s tracing approach or using latest apps from
the technology firms. To enhance transparency, the UK regulatory authorities should explain why any
treatments used in any other countries are not available here.

I'd suggest it would be possible that two things could be true:

1) China was deceptive in it's initial (and subsequent) communications of Covid-19 to the WHO.

2) The UK doesn't need to have confirmation from the WHO or briefings from the Communist Party of China to know what going on in China and what the impact might be. It can have failed to prepare despite ample warning.

Also Italy and Spain warnings should have been heeded, Italy actually told us this would be you soon.

This bit is interesting considering it comes at a point where exact language of TST is scrutinised...

Claim - Little was done to equip the National Health Service for the coming crisis in this period.

Response - This is wrong. The NHS has responded well to Coronavirus, and has provided treatment to everyone in critical need. We have constructed the new Nightingale hospitals and extended intensive care capacity in other hospitals.

Not really sure where that answer talks about steps taken to equip the health service. It's an answer to an entirely different question.

Not an excuse, but press office over the weekend will have very limited policy official contact, so they'll be cherry picking from Lines To Take, usually a low level Press Officer with no knowledge of the policy they are responding on (although this would have been signed off by a Senior Civil Servant).

But also yes, it's a classic dodge

It seems like someone has gone to quite a degree of effort into what is effectively a passive aggressive rebuttal.

Doesn't really give the impression that 'all of Government is entirely focused on Covid-19'.

I promise you they haven't mate. It definitely dodges the actual question for sure, but there won't have been a vast amount of cynical effort gone into it. It'll have been turned around in well under an hour, including clearance.
