That's why our government won't recommend wearing them as they're worried about people getting hold of ones that are meant for NHS and care\frontline workers, creating even more shortage problems.

it’s funny it’s a phrase I was familiar with from a previous life and I doubt I’d ever heard it used outside that other than in A purchasing and Supply context now it’s in everyday parlance as common as a ‘having a Brew’ .

To be clear I’m not suggesting that and I’m just mentioning what I heard , also I don’t think they were talking medical grade just a ‘decent ‘ mask whatever that entails .

PPE is used to protect nursing staff. Its mainly used to prevent nursing staff spreading infection from one patient to another though. Hence one use.
