Not exactly new that news though is it, all of a sudden we are all more bothered about it

People need to be more concerned with the government running their own country.

The Chinese didn't force 40 years of neo-liberalism on us and make sure that the NHS and the social care system was on its knees and unable to meet this challenge effectively; neither did they deny our nurses and doctors the protective equipment they desperately need to at least keep themselves safe.

Interesting. Was that mentioned in the article they're quoted in? I couldn't see anything about it on their website at all. You also sense had the government used such a guesstimate they may well not have been given the same latitude, and it's hard to imagine Morgan accepting a "we believe care home deaths to be between x and y" kind of response.

We'll never know because politicians (blue or red) will never answer a question. It's just the same standard patter. "We're working hard. We are doing everything we can."
