When he pops his clogs he`s already left a blueprint with his missus to turn himself into Robojoey, using salvaged Dyson parts.

The top half will be @Joey66 and the bottom half will be made up of the motor and body of an old Dyson on wheels, kind of like a Dalek, but without the death ray gun.

Unfortunately his range of travel will be quite limited, as he`ll have to be plugged into the mains.

The best they can hope for is that he`ll be able to travel as far as an extension lead will allow him.

Just woke up as I sleep a lot because of my deseased kidneys ......nice to be loved by some knob heads on the GOT ........I take it in good fun ......

I read somewhere a while back that the virus can become dormant and you'll get a negative result but the virus can reactivate and you'll test positive again. So you were never really rid of the virus in the first place.
Edit: not the original article I saw but reports the same thing. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.al...e-coronavirus-reactivate-200412062905537.html

Which means lock-down has no long term effect, it's just delaying the sad reality, we will all get the virus eventually unless it mutates and disappears on it's own or we hide indoors till a vaccine is out there

I thought that was obvious, and well known.

Like the mantra of Stay Home, Protect the NHS, Save Lives, didnt start yesterday.

Plenty of viruses tend to stay in the body for weeks or even months after infection.

Some like HIV obviously continue to harm you, some stay in your system as traces but do nothing whilst others like mollescum/HPV can stay dormant and have "break outs" when the immune system is weak in which you become infectious during these break outs.

Either way I highly doubt we'll get a vaccine imo - think its going to be a case of riding it out sadly.

Because not a lot of people play rugby for an obvious example? Not a lot of people workout often at gyms?

Exactly, as a proportion of a 67million population.

Rugby players will be in the hundreds of thousands at most (and some of them will be in terrible shape).

The number of people who go to the gym 3/4 times a week, every week, will be in the low millions at best.

All this bmi talk, rough guesses on gyms re opening?

Am saying 6 weeks plus still and this makes me sad

I read a stat once which said that 80% of people who say that BMI is a useless measure, look in the mirror and see muscle when everyone else looks at them and sees a porkie.

As for gyms reopening, you'd think they'd re-open ( with limited numbers of punters ? ) some time after small shops, but before bars ? Six weeks would seem hopeful tbh, 8 seems more likely.

What's more scary is that so far doctors and scientist are not sure if you get it you will be immune to it or for how long you will be immune, i was reading that many with mild symptoms are showing very little to no antibodies after they "recover", which means they can be reinfected later on when exposed to it again, right?

based on your extensive work in this field

I'd disagree with that. A lockdown gives us time to carry out medical trials with existing drugs to see if any of them, either on their own, or in combination, are effective at the time when the virus changes from just being flu like, to being bloody serious.

If, and it might be a big if, some of those trials end up with treatments which save a significant number of lives, it's worth the wait, and, if you have a treatment which works, you can relax restrictions a bit knowing you have a better chance of dealing with serious infections.

Obviously all those trials may come to nothing, but it has to be worth a try ?

Agreed.

This is still far too long
Open them next week
Rip economy and fitness/mental health

God knows mate, I read that those infected by SARS had immunity for upto 2 years after infection so may be similiar perhaps with the viruses being similiar.

Yes 2 years, but this is very different to the last SARS in so many ways.
