I was in NZ when the Christchurch shooting happened last year and from an outsiders' perspective, she handled that brilliantly.

Then what happened with White Island and then subsequently this - she's had some almighty crap to deal with in the last year!

She certainly has. All the while she's given birth and bringing up a child whilst leading the country through various crises.

Cheap Labour only gets you so far. Burberry making gowns shows that when you really need stuff, you can only rely on yourself. I’m not saying that everything will come flowing back to the U.K., but over reliance on Financial and other Services needs rebalancing with manufacturing and this may provide the stimulus to think again.....
Been saying this for a while.

have you not been blocked by him yet?
undoubtedly, he's in an brexiteer echo chamber with that drunken fossil.

No political points unless they are pro brexit or pro the party barny voted for based on one single demented issue. Also no political jokes about PPE while people are dying unless they are pro-tory. Anything else is just unseemly

That'll be down here Bruce. Cornwall has the lowest number of ICU beds per head of population and the second eldest population.

Luckily there's plenty of space to socially distance and people are doing what they're told so both the infection and death rates are among the lowest in the country.

It is a potential time bomb as you say though

Aye, it's a tricky one. I read in France they were converting TGV trains into moving ambulances to get people to where ICU capacity was better, but the train links to Cornwall are notoriously awful, so I suppose that's not a viable option (even though there are sleeper trains down there, you'd imagine the slowness would be a problem).

The loading gauge is an issue as well - the TGVs converted are double decked ones, which as anyone who has been in them knows have far more space than anything on our network.

To convert a HST into an ambulance train you’d probably experience problems with carriage height as well as width.

If they don't move to Europe they move to Brazil .south Africa etc as our company has done
We are lucky in Ireland as they are investing here but the 2 British factories are not getting a penny in investment

I assume this is Cadbury ? Years ago I used to meet up with Adrian Cadbury when he was advising a small group of us on Corporate Governance...I think he’s dead now though .....

BBC:

Nearly half of all deaths (47%) registered in London in the week ending 3 April were linked to Covid-19, new figures show

Call me sceptical but I would be shocked if this thing was responsible for all 47% of those deaths - thats almost Ebola levels.

As mentioned previously how many people who died simply had the virus but were asymptomatic?

Its frustrating being so in the dark we need testing ASAP - stop sitting on your hands and get producing our own if the kin tat from abroad isnt working / getting shipped quick enough.

Ebola has a death rate of roughly 50%, 50% of deaths in london doesn't mean the same.
