Well they already know who to point the finger at

At a time when the NHS is at its most flexible and unbureaucratic and most parts of it have had to completely restructure to manage their response to Covid-19 this really is a ridiculous line to take.

"The Government’s policy of lockdown is in significant part dictated by the demands not of patients, but of the NHS, and by its lack of adaptability and readiness."

Nothing at all to do with a lack of government preparedness or policy...

Let's just hope he isn't getting special treatment as that will be putting other people's lives at risk.

Seeing that he is only there for a precautionary measure. Oh...

The Tory's can't run away from salient facts, we have lowest amount ICU beds in Europe, they have set about managed decline of the NHS, through the contracts with junior Drs, pay freezes for years for staff, introducing fees for nurse training, and many many funding cuts and various more privatisation of services. They have not heeded the many warnings.

"Nick Ferrari's extraordinary exchange with Care Minister over pandemic test exercise"

"Ministers were warned that the UK would be overwhelmed by a shortage of critical care beds, ventilators, morgue capacity and protective kits. The findings from the exercise were deemed "too sensitive" to be made public and remain classified.
Nick suggested the government knew this was coming and didn't respond, but Ms Whately insisted it showed they were well-prepared".

And who is chairman of the parliamentary health committee - Jeremy Hunt health minster when Operation Cygnus was drawn up and binned due to the expense. He'll make sure Operation Cygnus will be covered up.

Susanna Reid, already an extremely poor ‘journalist’, has just said all political divides melt away because the Prime Minister is in intensive care. I’m sorry but they certainly don’t.

He will be receiving the best care imaginable whilst there’s a good chance if it happened to one of us plebs we’d be left gasping for air in a hospital corridor because there’s not enough beds or ventilators due to his party’s understanding of the NHS.

He isn’t the friendly ‘Boris’ he’s portrayed as being.

Gove confirmed this morning he hadn’t spoken to the PM since Saturday either . Quite clearly Despite the spin and ‘routine tests’ it seems clear the PM has been seriously ill for several days
I would normally show remorse in not believing someone was ill, however, he is a known to tell the odd porkie. Still I would not wish harm on him. Indeed, I like to believe this will change attitude of your average Tory and what they are doing to Health and social care, however, reading this thread and others, not a chance.

I hope that this will be the case. But have a suspicion that once healthcare, benefit systems and social care are issues that don’t immediately and directly affect them, they’ll revert to type.

Can't see any other conclusion, the foundation to revert to type is being layed as we type. The welfare state is in an ideaological battle against the need of profiteers. Plenty champing at the bit, like a foaming Jack Russell being prised away from it's newsest favourite bone it's just nicked from the fridge.

This is where honest voices in the media need to point out the fact that the usual right wing shills, have suddenly become ardent defenders of the NHS, and shouting for a benefit safety net for those losing their jobs, because they happen to now know someone in that position.

They should be held to those points when this is all over.
