but hes got a unborn baby there and she/he doesn't deserve it ... when he survives it will hopefully change his opinion on the NHS and he funds them accordingly

He won't change and his Eton child won't give two frigs about you or yours. I don't get why people won't show them the contempt they show the common man/brown man/gay man.

My missus has just been put on quarantine after one of the patients and her co-worker on the ward at the hospital she works at have tested positive.

Thankfully we are fairly young and it's just the two of us at home but it is a bit worrying.

The lack of gloves amazed me.
When you hear how many you get through just dealing with one elderly man with incontinence etc during a home visit is incredible. 6 pairs easy.
And that's before this virus.

Judging by the streets around me, the general public have bought them up en masse and have decided to chuck them on the floor when they're done with them. God only knows what they do that encourages them to do that.

The chances are good that you'll both be fine mate. Stay positive. You'll be indoors for two weeks, so it's important that you keep your spirits up as much as possible.

Are these stats those that died in hosp only? Could it be that a larger proportion of African Americans in the state don’t have access to sufficient health insurance to survive this thing?

Perhaps people don’t want to stoop to the same level: an eye for an eye isn’t the way. Politics is irrelevant when a person’s life is at stake.

I was listening to something the other day about this. A guy was worried it would hit them hard. A lot of it is socioeconomic as much as anything but there could also be a genetic factor as well.

Yeh of course not discounting genetics. To me, with no exp of living in the US, I can imagine the poorer you are the scarier this virus is without the NHS. Isn’t a giant leap to assume African Americans might be the poorer demographic in those states.

I'm still up. Still waiting. I can't frigging sleep. I've relapsed into workaholism. The past month has just fried my brain and I think I'm heading for a bloody breakdown.

To think Liverpool winning the title was bugging me.... I can barely remember what Klopp looks like.

I will say this though seeing as I'm up - I think from this year on, we should hold a minute's silence every 5th July (the date the nhs was formed) at 7:48pm (1948 hours, 1948 being the year it was formed)

We should also light all the Liverpool monuments blue - The graces, Radio City, that big ass hotel in the posh part of town.... even Anfield. Not Tory blue, not Everton blue (though we shall pretend i daresay), but NHS blue.

That's what I'd do if I was in Joe Anderson's shoes.

The Tory's can't run away from salient facts, we have lowest amount ICU beds in Europe, they have set about managed decline of the NHS, through the contracts with junior Drs, pay freezes for years for staff, introducing fees for nurse training, and many many funding cuts and various more privatisation of services. They have not heeded the many warnings.
