The high echelons of the Civil service are politically right wing and have been since thatcher.......I actually heard a permanent secretary at the dwp justify the excuse for a human being that is Duncan Smith

*sprays drink far more than 2 metres*

You have got to be joking hahahahahah

22% of ICU admissions in US have no co-morbidly which still seems frighteningly high to me for anyone to conclude yet “they were going to die soon anyway” especially as those still in ICU have uncertain outcomes.

I have a sister who is a pediatric ICU nurse on Long Island
She has just been shifted to an adult covid 19 ICU
Her first observation was that a large percentage of patients in ICU and those not yet in ICU could be classed as obese or morbidly obese
Does this seem to be a general reflection in your area

Honestly buddy there will be more Guardian subs per person in the CS than in any other organisation in Britain. Absolutely no truth at all that it's full of right-wingers. If anything, it is the total opposite.
Not talking about the ordinary CS workers....look at the top appointments. have you actually met any of them ?

Italy's total deaths from 2 days ago:

99% of the deaths above 50 years old
83% above 70 years old
50% above 80 years old!!!

I'm kinda confused by something. I've made my views clear on testing in general earlier in the thread, but I said I was in favour of testing for doctors and nurses. But I'm thinking, what's the point of that? If they're going to continue to work with coronavirus patients, what's the point of having the test at one random point in time?
I think the point was if the have the virus when they recover they would hopefully be immune and able to work

Have seen a few anecdotal comments by doctors along the same lines about obesity, one doctor speculated it was because of reduced lung volume.

Iirc obesity was split out as a co-morbidity in some of the Chinese data but I haven’t seen any US data so far that has had it as a separate line item although a lot of those patients are likely to be in another category like diabetes.
