Churches still classed as “essential services” in Florida as well - despite lots of outbreaks being directly tied to church meetings (eg S Korea super-spreader patient #31 who infected over 1000)

How the hell do you infect over 1000 people?!

Bloke must have been high fiving every one at the door.

This is my understanding too. They want to operate a switch on/switch off strategy for social distancing and lockdown in order to slow and control the spread through the population. Use it like a tap to control the number of cases. It’s herd immunity by any other name.

I think they’re resigned to the fact that we can’t stop the virus, a vaccine is too far away, so by keeping NHS capacity as good as possible, you’ll keep mortality rates as low as possible, by avoiding spikes.

You said it way better than I did.

Fact it, this is an issue because there isnt a resistance nor drug for it. And as a result, the NHS is under pressure. (to say the least). It will be controlled, as best you can, like you describe, imo.

But that's a guess isn't it? I was hoping for some actual evidence.

No that's actual factual response to your question. The flu can spread the same way.

Yes by hands by touching their own face then other things or you.
Also the normal cough to clear your throat that we all do, sneezing from dust, pollen.
Directly from a kiss even on the cheek type

Things like a big sigh or yawn, even talking if in close contact to someone could do it.

Yeah this ^

I've got zero science to back this up but Med countries all seem very handsy and huggy and very warm welcoming people which surely must help spread a virus faster than the more conservative Asian populations.

Could also be true. There's so many factors in play here.

Italy's high rate of smokers, for example. And the high rate of elderly male smokers in China.

That woudl explain a higher death rate in those countries, but not a higher transmission rate.

To me, when you see how the curve was flattened so effectively in South Korea in particular, it's quite clear that the cultural difference in Spain/Italy played a huge factor in the transmission rate skyrocketing.

For the UK/US, it's a bit different. It's skyrocketing here mostly because we're just an incredibly stupid populace who don't use common sense, simultaneously led by braindead donkeys.
