In fact England in the World Cup were like the first team i've seen be effective from set pieces on a consistent basis in yonks.

SOUTHGATE IN

Well to start we have siggurdsson and digne the wrong way around for inswingers and outswingers, and then our players don't actually attack it. They make a couple of steps and then jump, there's no proper conviction. Lookman's corner was in a good area last night though. Another option. But yeah, we need to mix set pieces up like we did against Soton. Haven't don't anything like that since.

Winning a header in the opposition box every third game would be a start.

It’s like we had an argument with the person in charge of ‘Law of Averages’ and we are being punished.

Digne should have been taken off freekicks and corners in the second half. Just wasnt his night and somebody else should have taken a few later on in the game.

The fact the players are practicing these things incessantly makes our impotency from set pieces all the more alarming :(
It does - especially when you consider their salaries. For that kind of cash they should be much more accurate or there should at least be one specialist who hits the spot almost every time.
Sigurdsson?

For a "dead ball specialist" he really is pretty poor at it this year. I suspect it's because they shifted Digne in to that role so he's not practicing as much.

I still think there is so much more room for improvement here...

We are still extremely poor here we must get better...
