That's the epitaph on my shrine to him.

This makes no sense to me.
We know that Bill Kenwright would like nothing better than for David Moyes to sign a new contract.
After eleven years working together David Moyes has a fairly good idea of what he will get to work with in the transfer window.
If he doesn't sell players he may get five or six million to spend from the extra money coming into the club,if he sells players,he will get that to reinvest. We know Heitinga will be sold if at all possible as he enters the last year of his contract. We know that Fellaini wants to ove to a CL club and will force a move if bids are received.
I think Baines may well leave this summer as well, which will generate more cash but will be a huge blow to the team.

We know the board will not borrow huge sums to give to the manager,so ,what is David Moyes waiting to find out?

I think it may be that he realises he is not in contention for any of the big jobs and as SHEEDY has suggested is trying somewhat to redeem the situation.
