CONFIRMED: Moyes Leaving - All Reaction Here

See your usually quite negative but you usually ground it reality. Like a 'realist' I'd say.

But saying that Moyes would wait until late July/August to sign a contract is nonsense. It would be a guarantee for another absymal start to the season that Moyes wouldn't want for his reputation.

I agree that he'll be looking at his options, but there is no way he'd leave himself or us hanging that long.

Hope this is right. Hanging on any more than a few days after the last game of the season would be unacceptable.

Same thing people who say he would wait longer is based on I'd wager.

I've probably missed the posts mate but certainly from me I've just posted that its something we 'can't have ' and that'd be 'unacceptable ' not that he will or won't do something . That post I quoted said he "wouldn't do that" which is pretty definitive like the posts that say without him we'll be relegated .

I'm not saying either thing is wrong but to post them as facts isn't accurate or Fair actually

I agree ... although in fairness people often choose their words poorly and frame their opinion as fact (on both sides). In the end going down the semantics road about how people present their argument (which they probably made while looking over their shoulder so someone doesn't notice they are on a forum or with kids screaming in the background or waiting for the train and typing on your mobile or whatever) isn't going to get us to any new territory in the discussion. We'd probably be better off giving people the benefit of the doubt (you can still argue with their opinion) -- that said I do it myself all the time in calling people out for their word choice so I'm one to talk.

You are 100% correct though -- just not sure it gets us anywhere to constantly "score points" in this way rather than getting past a poorly phrased statement to the real meaning or intent of the message.

Not once, but twice

It's not hard really, if one event does or doesn't happen then subsequent events won't necessarily be the same.

Brennan - if there were a room full of maths students you'd be the bimbo at the back of the class giving out the blow jobs.

Moyes must have done his part but it was down to the players to achieve it. He merely made two changes and the core of the squad was the same.

I don't always like his tactics but most of them work. See where we finish in the last decade.

Must have done his part? The actual game suggests otherwise.

Looking back on his time here you make it sound like you're summarising by looking at league finishes on a piece of paper, without looking at any of the detail. Then saying he must have done well because we have finished ok in the league.

Even just looking back a year, I’m thinking of the disappointment of the bizarre team selection and performance in the anfield derby, slow walking back to the train listening to all the rs give it loads, after we threw away a massive chance to get to the Final at Wembley and then last Saturday throwing away a massive opportunity by seemingly not even trying.

Yeah I take that point mate but I can't recall having read any post (there are probably hundreds ) that states in a factual type manner that we'll be winning trophies or breaking the top hour without him ? I do avcept your point and its probably accurate but I do think those pro-moyes (for want of a better phrase ) have a habit of posting we'll be lost without him as a fact .

I can honestly say personally I've changed my perspective a little after Wigan & the general contract issue although I'll be honest enough to say I've never be as enamoured with him as others but that doesn't take from my overall opinion that he's done well . I do honestly think (I'm probably completely wrong again mind ) that age can have an effect as a lot of older fans who've been lucky enough to see this club at the top are perhaps a little more 'demanding ' . Like I say I could be wrong though .
