If the job was so good then Moyes wouldn't want to leave in the first place. I certainly can't see him getting the same wage in most other jobs.

You think he'll move to another club for less cash? He's Scottish you know mate.

If he moves it'll be for a job that 'ticks all his boxes' - them being; cash to spend, ambition & personal package.

I think he has thoughts of a City or a United, but I'm not sure that he'll get an offer of that calibre. either way it needs to be resolved within a couple of weeks of the seasons end.

Everton football club needs a total revolution like the one when Smith left and Moyes came in. It will either rip is apart (Villa style) or push us on (unlikely).

Either way if Moyes stays expect to be stagnant between 6th-10th finishes. Hes ran out of ideas and all he does is rely on old dogs. Neville is crap should be nowhere near the team. Run the risk of a youngster or two FFS.

He's said he wants to manage in Germany at some point.

Do you think a German club would pay him £3.5m per annum when most German players are on a lot less than that ? There's only one German league manager on that much, and it's Heynckes. Not sure that job will be open for a while either.

Moyes is one of the best paid managers in the World, in the World's richest league. Are managers going to turn that down cos they have to sell to buy?
We have had players on high wages in the past. When we sell them and get someone new in we don't automatically pay the new player the same exact wage as the outgoing player.

We pay Moyes a salary based on his past performance. You may think he's overpaid but its still based on his history. I don't think we should assume they will pay his replacement the same amount of money (or even something close). They will likely regress the manager's wages back to the average for a club in our position.

Most of the time the wage packet has some guarantees built in. If we paid a new manager the same as Moyes and gave him a 3-5 year deal and he turned out to be utterly crap and we were on the hook for his wages for the next five years (and had to find a new manager to boot) how would you feel about that? We pay Moyes what we pay him because the risk of that "worst case scenario" is very low. A new manager is unproven and can't command those kinds of wages.

"Moyes is overpaid!"

"We should be able to get a good new manager by paying him what we pay Moyes!"

Why do you want to overpay the new manager as well? He (or she!) hasn't won anything with Everton either -- why do they deserve to be one of the highest paid managers in the world if Moyes doesn't?

If David Moyes chooses to leave this summer, the Everton job will be coveted by some of the best managers in world football...why ?

1. The pay would be a reported 65k per week ,this is in the scale that would attract top managers.
2. The talent at Everton. Any manager would be interested in working with Baines,Gibson,Jagielka,Jelavic,Mirallas,Osman,Pienaar, Fellaini and the others. Even if some of these players leave the club generally allows the manager to reinvest the sales proceeds back into players.
3.This will not be appreciated by some on here, but is a fact nonetheless. Bill Kenwright is seen as a chairman that a manager can work with and get support from.We are in fact the anti-Chelsea. Managers will know they will be allowed to get on with their job,be given time if things get difficult and support where possible.
4. We have top class facilities and a reputation of developing home grown talent.
5.We have a fanbase that understands football and generally understands and supports their manager when it is merited.

11 years is a long time in one job mate, to never fully achieve your goals. I think he needs a fresh challenge. He's very carefully managed his public profile, but there will come a time when it'll become harder to do that.

How many top managers would be interested in a job where you have to sell your best players to buy new ones ? Answer: None.

He'd be lucky to get half that at a German club. Isn't Klopp on like £1.5m a year?

If he's not bothered about the money though, I could see him doing well there. There's already financial restrictions in place in the Bundesliga which makes it a bit more of a level playing field.

Get Clarke in.

Too many people are under selling the club and over stating Moyes' ability.

Agreed about wanting Laudrup though. Felli will be off in the Summer, we could afford Laudrup then I am sure.

I doubt it mate all the top managers want guarantee's of cash to spend you hear your o neils etc. moaning when they dont have cash in one window never mind every window like oursleves.

Laurdrop would be brilliant can see him doing a moyes at swansea and building a good side through cheap buys, if Moyes does leave I would love him here, whats the cost of pay offs for managers?

but I still hope Moyes stays his tactics can be questioned but he has a good eye for players should we get alteast europa league will be an exciting sumer with the sky money coming in could see us spending around £10 mil + cash from player sales (hopefully heitinga and to an extent anichebe should jela improve.)

Not top quality ones there wouldn't.

It depends on who specifically you're referring to, as a generalisation I'm saying you're wrong to assume the lack of major funds would overide the handsome wage packet. There'd be plenty of well respected managers in the game, who'd take on Everton & their limited budget with a 3 or 4 year £4M per annum contract on the table.
