The question stands.. How do you know this?

Its fairly common knowledge at this point, he was going on every football show he could get his hands on and when asked about Spurs at no point did he rule himself out.

If somebody wants to find quotes etc then do I'm certain they've already been posted earlier in this thread though.

I have problems with this narrative, if I'm honest.

If Martinez comes in and has us in the CL and a cup final within the next six years will the credit go to Moyes?

Depends on whether the type of football we play changes or not.

It's pretty obvious that Swansea play a brand of football which was introduced under Martinez. I take that from the Swansea fans who probably know a lot more than either of us about it.

Thinking more along the lines of Carrol, Torres, Veron, Forlan, Keane and various others. Good buys? you decide.
Said it before, and I'll say it again. Moyes has never had money to sepnd on a decent player, and if the combined list of his entire 'big' mistakes add up to less than those around him have binned on a single player... he's done well.

Overall he has done well, but he has made a lot more thn 2 mistakes as a previous poster said.
But Martinez has also brought decent players in,al habsi, dos santo ,McCarthy,Maloney to name afew.
He s got experience of the premier league and a tightarse chairman.

The blueprint was his and made their chairman believe it was possible which influenced his future choices. Martinez' Swansea and Rodgers were different as is Laudrups who is far more direct than Rodgers. I think Sousa got them some very good players too.

I think each one can take some credit.

But who cares? We largely play the same brand of football as we did under Smith. Moyes successes still aren't his.

Rodgers and Laudrup srill won the games in question. And most of the players are differnet now.

I don't get what you mean mate, tbh.

Nobody is saying that Martinez should get a Carling Cup medal if Swansea win, but he led a revolution in terms of play style which has resulted in Swansea coming on leaps and bounds since he was there.

Jewell inherited a team in the third flight and took them to a cup final and two seasons in the PL. Martinez took over a team tenth in the PL and has kept them in it.

And wages are higher as a percentage of turnover under martinez than under Jewell.

Martinez took over in 09 was it? From there he completely changed how Wigan play from Jewel and Bruce. They couldve just plucked a Big Sam type to keep them in the prem. It's why Jewel and Bruce are now lower league than premiership. See McCarthey, Brown...

Instead they went off to a new kid who wants to play a certain way and won't change how he does it, even if they fight against relegation each year. It's a completely different set up from the previous regime.

Additionally selling big players doesn't help and the fact they can't draw in a certain quality hinders them pulling off how he wants them to play.

To me, he's not got the tools to pull off how he wants them to play, but is stubborn and won't change it. This then leads them to scrapping relegation and it paying off at the end with them surviving.

All I see is that mentality and giving him the tools to pull it off with better players if he was with us.

To me that's why I wouldn't like him here. I admire his principles but he's trying to play continental football on a rugby pitch. Your manager needs to be able to adjust to the situation at hand.

I said I'd take him over Moyes for that attitude for the cups I.e. play to win and win well but no doubt at a club like ours with a small squad it'd cost us in the league. Surely there's a manager out there who could do both?
