Computer games.

I love the Total War games and Civilization series as well. Empire is my favourite for the naval battles, I've been watching Horatio Hornblower and that got me in the mood for some broadside action.

When you play with Spain your king is King Charles the 2nd who was the last of the Spanish Habsburg line and basically suffered from multiple genetic problems from inbreeding. So you start off with him in charge and you get diplomatic penalties because nobody wants to deal with your imbecile of a king. He literally gets a "freak of nature" trait.

I think I'm going to start a game as the Indian Maratha Confederacy as I have never done that and try to take over the entire world. That should take my mind off of pre-derby anxieties.

Civilisation V is one of my favourites. Anyone tried the new one?

I have only tried the campaign so can only be The English. I still have it installed, maybe I'll have a go tonight, something different. Just looked and it's installed but I have never played it on this PC, I've had the PC a Year.

What big differences are there from 5-6 mate?

Apart from the obvious graphical differences there's a lot of addition that all add to the game. The research trees are more in depth and you have to govern more by choosing what policies to adopt for research and military.

Barbarians are much more intelligent at the start and are more frequent, you can't shoot with your city until you have walls so barbarians can attack from the off. Some different Characters, just loads mate, much more than I can remember off top of my head. I didn't hesitate paying £60 like.

New wonders and districts.

Got my first ever platinum trophy this week with Final Fantasy XV. Good game, but completely burnt out on it now.
Picked up Sanctum 2 on steam with a friend and it's great fun little co-op game. It's a hybrid FPS/tower defence game.

Downloaded Sleeping Dogs (and another one I can't remember at the moment) free with the "Games with Gold". Played it last night and it just seems like a Grand Theft Auto set in Hong Kong....only less guns and more hand to hand combat. Seems alright so far. Got Quantum Break for a tenner in the sales too so looking forward to trying that one out.

I'm currently about half-way through Final Fantasy XV and still haven't earthly what basic the story is in this game or what the point of anything is? Was there some sort of prequel game I've missed because things are just being thrown out like the player shouldn't find any of it confusing.

The characters are a crap, you run around in a party of four in which you control an emo prince. His three mates are some WWE wrestler, an art student and Phil Kirkbride from the Echo.

If oyu like that sort of thing you should check out CK2.

Yes, I have both, Civ 6 is brilliant.

I think I'm gonna pick this up as soon as it's on sale after xmas. Love the Civ series :)

That looks like a seriously wide monitor??
