Computer games.

I stand corrected then. I got the impression with what I read about it that there was very little coverage of the game before release.
Crikey mate, no!! Sony really put their marketing machine behind it. They were at all the computer expos, all over the media. Like I said, Sean Murray was on the Late Show with Colbert playing the game (well, as it turns out, he pretended to play the game, it was running on a PC on a demo like mode (pre-scripted) - he was purporting to play the PS4 version).

On IGN every other day, countless interviews with every game 'journalist' who asked for one. And all filled with lies and mis-truths.

If No Mans Sky was released completely out of the blue, with no prior press or teasers - Would it be a bad game?

It's incredibly difficult to get a fully objective review of the game because everybody just seems to cryarse that it 'wasn't as described'

Apparently there are hundreds of changes in every yearly iteration of FIFA - Really noticeable aren't they?

That's pretty much where I'm coming at it from. I knew there'd been stuff promised that wasn't in the game but I hadn't seen any trailers or footage. I just wanted to try it out for myself.

Although I'm loving it now I doubt I'll be playing it for long. I'm only on my second star system but I get the impression I've pretty much seen everything.

It seems like they had some pretty good ideas for a game but didn't have the budget or time to deliver everything.

Without doubt one of the most over marketed overhyped games of all time, the developers deserved the kicking they got on various media platforms. However, it achieved it's objective. Most gamers i knew after the first delay it was going to be a turkey.

I just couldn't get into it. For some reason, whether it was the fact you barely get experience for killing things or what , but it didn't grip me.

It's a shame because it was my type of game and it didn't turn me off like dragon age did (thought that was awful )but for some reason witcher just felt too much like a chore. I enjoyed Gwent in it though haha

It was a game I wanted to love but I never had the draw to play it, whereas skyrim always pulls me back in

The experience and levelling is very different to many games. It's not 'grindy' like most. You get tons of XP for quests, rather than mobs.

The writing and voice acting in TW3 is completely unparalleled as far as I'm concerned. The amount of content and depth to the characters and quests is just insane. Walking through a bustling city in the rain and heading into a busy tavern is completely immersive, where as in Skyrim (which I also loved) the cities never felt anything more than a few houses with 4 or 5 NPCs wandering around.

Gwent was great too! Did you get into the Beta of the standalone game? It's good fun.

The Witcher 3, there's a game I need to get back into. I only got to level 5, Doing the Baron mission got killed and haven't played it since.

I play a lot of RPG's and the levelling is very slow or is it just me. I never felt like my character was progressing at the rate I was doing missions.

I never as i don't have a pc, although i would be very interested if a console version was made! bit mad my first impression of gwent was playing the fella in the palace who has amazingly better cards than you do at the time. Just hooked me a little bit.

the game itself, i wanted to like it, i really did. I got it with high hopes of it replacing skyrim, but as i say it never had me going back it to the same way that other games do. Hell even now re playing destiny, playing the same missions as i did before i stopped the first time and still enjoying it.

I'd also add to this, keep the missions you are doing relevant for the level you are. If you are 5 or more levels above the mission level the experience is massively scaled down to just a couple of exp points.

Possibly the best game I've ever played. Defo the most immersive, I know that graphics and music don't really add anything to the gameplay but here they added to the enjoyment of the game. I often found myself humming the tunes when I wasn't playing the game.

The closest I got to playing a game like Witcher previously was Fable but this is on a completely different level. But you can do as much or as little as you want. I never bothered with Gwent and only used a few of the potions but I was well into the swords and augmentations and that.

One of the best things about the game was going exploring in the wilds and coming across some monster way too powerful for me, running away and then coming back when I've levelled up.

Then of course there's the patches which improved small aspects of the game and the dlc's which added much more.

I am just installing Titanfall 2, I hope it's as good as it looks, not my genre shooters but I'm playing DOOM and stuff and getting more into them. Shooters are ok when you don't want to think too much I guess, unless tactics involved.
