Computer games.

No, the season pass means you have access to that seasons content.

So Horizons was initially announced as an expansion (basically Elite 2.0), but as the industry has rebranded DLC into these seasons, Frontier did the same thing and Horizons was rebranded from an expansion to a season of content.

You get 2.0 (planetary landing), 2.1(engineers), 2.2 (Guardians which is where the current release is), 2.3 (multi-crew) and 2.4 (which is just speculated at, but maybe something to do with Aliens).

Then there will be another season for the 3.0 content.

It's in my basket, I'm umming and arring about it. Maybe should get better first but some of the features sound cool, landing on planets sounds good in theory.

Have you played Space Engineers? Had it for a while, waiting for it to come out of early access before I really try digging in.

IMO, it meshes perfectly. If you think about it, they are a perfect marriage.

If you look at the steam reviews, most of the negative reviews are people criticising the DLC policy - the base game comes with Empire, Dwarfs, Orcs/Goblins and Vampire Counts, you have to pay for Chaos, Beastmen and Wood Elves (with more to come).

When it comes to the actual game, lots of people are hailing it as one of the best of the series. True, it streamlines the global aspect a bit, which makes it a smidge more accessible to new players, but the battlefield stuff is right up there, and IMO it is the best (the hero characters are unique, plus the awesomeness of flying units adds another dimension to the game).

If you can get it on a sale, I highly recommend giving it a whirl, you don't have to be a Warhammer fan to appreciate how good a TW game it is.

Oh thanks mate; I'll pick it up later today. Saw it in a store yesterday for 15 €. Must admit the hero aspect and magic sounds appealing.

Don't really care about the DLC's. The days of being able to buy full games with costless patches/expansions are sadly over.

I am now playing horizons, I suspect I won't notice any difference being so new to the game.
Well the biggest thing is you can land on planets.

If you look at the system map, the planets with a 3/4 blue circle around them are landable, and if the have three lines sticking up from the 3/4 circle, they have a port there you can land at, or installations you can attack.

The other thing is, the armies are varied (and not just in aesthetics, but in play style). The Vampires are able to raise large amounts of cheap fodder units very quickly, but the Dwarf units are expensive and slow, but amazing in defense. The Empire thrive with Cavalry and the Orcs a good mix of cheap and elite units.

Each requires playing a different way.

When I was playing Shogun 2, for all of its glory, I found that I was basically picking armies based on their colour as there was little variation between them. That is deffo not the case in Warhammer.

Lost Odyssey and blue dragon just released on BC on Xbox one with Lost Odyssey free to download til the end of the year. Looks like they've found a was to make mulit disc games available which they said they couldn't do initially. Be having a bash at that tonight. Great JRPG for anyone who hasn't played it.
