Computer games.

I so want to be able to get into this game, I just can't. I refuse to uninstall it but I find the taking off and landing too hard and can't be bothered learning lol. Although I have done it once. I may have to persevere with it, I wanted the game for so long, being an old c64/amiga man.
Yeah, it's pretty ruthless for beginners!

Check out 'Chaoswulff' on YouTube, he does loads of decent tutorial vids. Also worth checking series 3 of his 'Zero to Hero' vids, which is sort of part LP part tutorial
on how to get started on ED.

Stick with it ;)

I'll try, I had my ship lined up, landing gear down, down thrusts onto pad and nothing yet on the training missions I can land, frustrating.

The pad number at the back of the pad? (as in, you didn't just take off, then immediately try to land? You actually exited the station first?)

No I started in space in my career mode, so went to the nearest station, had docking permission, proceed to docking pad 02, went there lined up had the target blue thrust down, touched down and nothing. I will keep trying because if I nail this I can get into the game.

Didn't do so good on my next mission though, I got lost, in space.

My main two tips for the game.....unbind 'Jettison All' on PC, it is right next to the cargo scoop button. So instead of scooping sweet salvage, you end up dumping everything. Seriously, FDev, why even have that button bound by default??

When you get your own ship (ie, not the freewinder), never fly without rebuy money. Elite players have a saying "Don't fly what you can't rebuy" As when you have spent a million on a Type 6, then buy every single piece of cargo you can, then you get shot out of the sky by a pirate....well, the cargo is gone, and so is your ship. Always have the insurance money available.

Managed to do a few missions, I have sussed out the landing thing now. I have about 60000 credits, how do i modify the ship?

Find a station with 'outfitting'

Then you have engineers who allow modifications to parts and weapons, but you have to bring them the materials to do so (the materials can be found at USS, POI's on planet surfaces, mining, mission rewards and from the commodity markets)

Playing on PC. Think its horizons not to sure. I'll check tomorrow. If its a dlc then prob no.

Happy now I can land. Wish could have my own music on some of them long flights. But hopefully I'll get into it.

Commander Blue Jester .
