Computer games.

Has great narrative and emotional punch. The animal AI is fantastic. It sometimes doesn't do what you ask strait away. Which is great, he still reacts to you on a way an animal would. If he fiendish you said when you said it the game would be terrible. Pulling my hair out with some of the reviewers going on about it. The camera at first is a bit of an issue but thebtricknis not to always swing the camera but just keep it behind the boy and move him to where you wanna look and you won't have a problem.

Cool.

Looking forward to making my own mind up on it. I think reviewers and a lot of gamers have become so jaded they'll overlook or underplay genuine magic in games whilst they exaggerate trivial issues.

Oh yeah! From where it is now, to where it began after its release, it is so much more of a game.

If you like Elite 2, this should be right up your street. You can fly with flight assist (where it is akin to atmospheric flight) or go full newtonian and fly without the assist.

Stay away from the sub-reddit though, as it is full of cynical modern gamers who complain that the world isn't handed to you on a plate (as in there are only basic tutorials and you are just dropped into it and left to fend for yourself). If you start at release, then you will be on equal footing with everyone else on the PS.

As you are playing on PS, if you fancied to fly with a stick, consider the Thrustmaster HOTAS 4 (it is a PC/PS4 stick). I play with the previous version, the HOTAS X, and for the price, it is awesome (its no X55 or Warthog, but those cost hundreds, where the HOTAS X was only 25 quid).

The short of it is, if you like space games, then E:D is the game to get for you.

I'd highly recommend the console section on the official Frontier forums. There's a fair few PC players who prefer it there to the vanilla ED discussion forums due to much less whinging and infighting.
Who'd of thought us console peasants would be the more civilised bunch? ;)

@Duncan Disordely Highly recommend ED myself. Been playing on the XBone for over a year and am still massively hooked. It really has moved forward in leaps since its release.

I recently joined an exploration faction and took the trip to Beagle Point, 65,000 Light Years from Earth. It's taken me 3 months... the scope of this game is absolutely mind blowing at times :D

It looks amazing as well! :)

I've got too much time on my hands and with a few operations on the horizon meaning I'm going to be out of work for another 6 months or longer I've gone and bought a PS4 . Now I had 2 PS2 and PS3's that became glorified DVD players so let's see how long this lasts .

I've bought madden, Fifa , NBA , doom and GTA and have fall out as part of the bundle but I think I'll cash that in .

I've had it 2 days and so far only played madden ( a lot) and the NBA game I've had a little go tonight . Both enjoyable so far .

Hope the ops go ok mate.

Looks like you have a similar taste in games to me.

I so want to be able to get into this game, I just can't. I refuse to uninstall it but I find the taking off and landing too hard and can't be bothered learning lol. Although I have done it once. I may have to persevere with it, I wanted the game for so long, being an old c64/amiga man.

I have been playing the game for 2 years now. Nailing the perfect landing is still so satisfying!!!

Also, when trading, boosting out of the slot in a Type-9 is nailbiting....you have to get it perfect as the slot is just big enough for the Type-9 to get through!

I know, I should persevere wish I had more patience. I know I would really enjoy it if I can nail the basics.

I have had a go. I can dock in the training missions but not when I start a career, I don't understand why.
