Come on lads, it's time for the wailing an gnashing of teeth to stop.

That's not completely true TBF - worth going back and having a look at what he actually did at Milan and the state they were in after Fatih Terim left.
Carlo is supposed to be a very hands off manager. He doesn't get involved in the nitty gritty bits of football and is more of a high level boss than a coach. At Bayern, he pissed off Robben, Mueller, Hummels, etc by having relaxed training sessions which didn't sit well with their match day losses.
Even the Napoli clashes were due to his laidback approach supposedly.
Can he reshape an entire club which has been under performing for 3 decades? This thread's OP appears to think so. He puts all the blame on the players and lives in the premise that giving the keys of the club to Carlo will solve everything.
Everton need a manager who can improve atleast some of the existing players with hands on coaching and splurge cash on acquiring the others.

It can't get any worse than last night, so at least that means that anything else this season going forward is technically positive haha

There are no positives to take from yesterday as far as the actuality of the game is concerned. None whatsoever.

I can think of worse defeats for a variety of reasons but this was sobering at the very least and appalling at its worst.

There are only a handful of the squad that are fit to be retained and of those, I'm not sure that a single one is of the calibre to play for a top 4 side.

Provided finances are in place, I expect and hope for gradual improvement only - as long as there is a steady upward trend I can live with that no matter how long it takes.

A few well-matched signings would make a big impact but I think the next 18 months are going to be quite difficult whilst we start over essentially.

What a rag-tag bunch of misfits we have masquerading as a Premier League squad. In some or all cases variably of no technical ability, slow, demotivated, lazy, and lacking in character.

It was telling yesterday that the too most disgraceful "performances" in my view came from Sigurdsson and Schneiderlin - both completely anonymous against a team of teenage rookies.

Koeman and Walsh have been the worst things ever to happen to Everton Football Club. The stink still persists.

Let's not forget either that we have a coaching team that have the stink of a decade's worth of decline on them and that they also set the tone for capitulations like this.

Alarmingly we hear about new deals for Ferguson and no doubt the rest of the leeches.

Carry on with these people behind the scenes and we'll never turn the corner. There needs to be a root and branch approach to clearing a way forward here out of the thicket we're tangled up in.

It was another loss to a decent bunch of Liverpool players with a pretty untalented Everton team.

This is what happens with the Everton team erected in the last 3 seasons or so with too much cash. This is the Zombie Everton lingering on.

Let's hand Carlo the tools to transform us and get these players out and his own better quality players in.

I dont even consider this ground zero. That happened weeks ago at Anfield with that 5-2 mauling. Decisions were taken then which ended up with us having a genius manager in our dugout. As long as he's backed, he'll get us our position and status back in a couple of seasons.

Five or six of Ancelotti type players in to add to a small handful of the current lot and we'll be a different proposition next season. It's going to get better. Much, much better.
Alright mate. 'fess up. What have u done with the real davek??!!
Oh and btw I totally agree with ya. Even though the performance was a bloody disgrace

On the contrary. The rose tinted glasses are off & Carlo has seen the real value of this squad, now that his honeymoon period is over. He can start genuinely thinking about what can be done this Month and start planning for the Summer.

My experience in life has taught me that no matter how bad things look at any particular moment in time, they can always take a turn for the worse.

Last season’s injury time debacle at The Pit caused massive psychological damage to the squad and we were months recovering from it.

Yesterday’s humiliation has the potential for a similiar hangover.

And if we fail to win on Saturday we could be right back in the thick of the 17th place dogfight.

So don’t kid yourself, it can get worse.

Much worse :)

There was a time when losing to the RS had me in the dumps for weeks.

24 hours after yesterday's predictably debacle, I'm getting on with my life.
